Absolutely amazing ! Well done ! The idea in itself is just excellent ! You have my respects, as a fellow cooking-video maker. You have it all : humor, interesting shots, rythm.
(Only small minor tips for improvement, and you can do the same for me : don't heasitate to get closer to the cutting board, or to do a white balance in the yellow kitchen light)
good video showing cooking basics that can feed us at minimum cost. you can buy a 25 lb. bag of pinto beans for less than $20, which will feed 2 people for @ a month, even if you eat 3 bean meals per day. add rice or cheese and you have all your needed amino acids. they also store well for many years in sealed buckets. brown rice can be stored for up to a year or so in a sealed food grade bucket. avoid gmo beans, like most soy beans, when possible. non-gmo's make their own seeds.
It's not easily discernible how long I keep them on just by watching. You're right... 3-4 hours is about how long I cook my beans. The rice alone cooks about 30 minutes! :)
It's not a thing where you add a certain amount of water at the beginning. You have to keep your eyes on it and keep adding as you cook. The beans are a bit like rice... they'll soak up all of the water you put in there. The first amount of water you put in will be enough just to cover the beans. Keep adding water as they soak it up until the beans are soft all the way through.
Very original video. You did a great job. I must confess I use canned beans but can still use part of your recipe.

Great video. Very creative, it took alot of time to make this video. Can you use the same process making gumbo? Thanks

When cooking with beans I precook them in a pressure cooker, speeds things up.
Also, I liked the Star Wars cantina music at the end.
