@Romeighla In my own opinion, feel free to disagree, I enjoyed the game for it's new technology (being able to see their equiptment in battle and more minor details like that) and also the story was really long and very enjoyable, being that, you don't have to be like Lv. 99 to be able to defeat the final boss like in Final Fantasy, but a decent level, and the graphics are really very good, they just don't show up as well on here. I definitely recommend it though. :) Have a nice day!

No, DRAGON QUEST is much better than FINAL FANTASY. Every DQ is brilliant, but there are too many FF-games that are not good. Best FF's are 6 & 7, best DQ's are all of them! ;-)

And DQ IX is really brilliant! I'm playing 110 hours now and there's still so much to do. Amazing!

But to say something about DRAGON QUEST IX: This review sucks!

I'm playing the game since the release in europe, over 150 hours so far and still so damn much to do. And now it even topped DRAGON QUEST VIII for me, the game gets better with every hour.

And for me DRAGON QUEST IX is the best game I ever played in 25 years.

Amazing, epic, brilliant, never-ending!!! 9.5!!!

@Trondyard I just got this game, I irk away from it before because of a bad review saying "all you do is missions and thats it" but I knew you could make your own characters and I got it just today, it is a good game. I just like the randomness in plots with dragon quest.

Well, the game has a lot of missions (use the Wifi-connection to download even more), but it has also a big story to play.

So far I played 260 hours now and still there's so much I haven't done. This game is worth every penny.

Wish you much fun with this masterpiece. One of the very best JRPG's of all time.

I thought you could only make three more characters and that was it, you could make up to eight other characters and I like rpg where I can switch out characters. this game is for the win!!

You can find the "DQVC" to download missions in the Inn in the city "Stornway". On the right side of the alchemy-pott you will find a woman called "Tiffany". Shouldn't take too long till she appears there.

You can use it every day to download new things to buy, every friday you can get new missions and every two weeks a new special guest in the inn will arrive.

@darthlew15 Well, the classes that I know of are: Mistral, luminary, Ranger, Gladiator, Warrior, Mage, Sage, Priest, and Thief. I'm not sure but I think there is one more. DQ9 is the best game for the DS EVER. It's fun, long-lasting, and has plenty of post-game content that can be finished whenever. I seriously recommend it! btw: if you have wifi you can connect to a special store that changes everyday and you can buy almost anything in it! Message me if you want more info.

hey dude dragon quest is awesome this looks really good but do you know if your going to just be using those 2 characters they show or are you going to scout monsters to fight with? also do you know when the game will come out?

No I don't think so; you get to have up to 4 party members in battle at the same time (from what I've found out). I'm not sure about monster scouting though (but don't rule it out yet). As for Nintendo of North America, it's yet to be announced till the year 2010.
