  • 4/8/11 - $108 dollars a barrel now. Funny how the comments below mine are a brief look into the past. I wonder how high it will go?

  • £1 per litre of petrol , i wish that where the case nowadays instead of £1.10

2015 is only 5 years away and i dont see 35 extra million barrels of oil per day being produced anytime soon.

where struggling to find 87 as it is.

  • $69 today. The price is creeping up. : /

  • $36 today :)

jus seems to bne goin lower n lower

  • $59 a barrel today. Price sky-rocketed and then crashed down :) Still the same

  • Its now at 89 million barrels per day. It's obvious how rapidly demands increase while new discoveries decline.

  • wish it was a pound today,,,, wait till the jews bomb iran in october,,, 300 bucks a barrel,,,, the worlds fecked we had a gud 100 years its all ending n its ending,,, it will be mad max land very soon ,,, stranded cars n people desperate and killing for the devils blood... find god its the only answer

  • will we all have to get use to a lower standard of living? or just the working class?

  • Define 'working class'?

  • working class= skilled workers semi skilled and unskilled. Working for other people/companies usually but not necessary live in social housing. Income 80% of national average or less.

  • Define the 'national average' income?

  • I think all of us will be affected considerably.

  • destroy all humans ! maybe that is a bit short sighted instead why not stop worrying everyone to death and put some real money into new technologies otherwise the americans will have to add rowing ports to their aircraft carriers and the polititians will have to learn that the sword is mightier than the pen

  • Oh yeah, and watch the stuff coming out about the third opec summit (since opec was established) this weekend. Maybe they`ll stop trading oil in just dollars in the not too distant future.

  • Watch the rapid rise in the cost of food. Oil is food. Rationing of fuel, particularly for agriculture will follow soon. The trouble is people have cried wolf too often in the past, and now we`re about to get mauled.

  • Peak oilists have a really strong arguement! On one hand they advocate breeding dragons as transport mechanisms and in the other hand they write they write rock music.

  • with peak oil, peak water and peak debt ... it's about time we hit peak POPULATION!

  • Finally the truth is out about peak oil. Now even the IEA has recognized that peak oil is real and we are going to have a lot of trouble concerning oil supplementation in the near future. Back in history the IEA was always known to be excessively optimistic about future oil-production. Why was the truth concealed for so long?

  • North Sea oil isn't going to last much longer about 15 years 20 at the most when it goes prices will hike up even more.

Global Warming = Rubbish but we do need to find alternative fuel sources within 50 years or planes cars electricity boats will all dissapear within 100 years but we do already have some sources Wave, hydro, Solar Ethanol

  • Gaffney16celtic, where do you get these numbers from? What do you mean by last 15-20 years? North Sea production has already fallen by a third from its peak production rate in 1999.

Alternatives within 50 years? We need alternates TODAY to offset declining oil production TODAY.

  • There already is a global oil shortage, better get used to it.
