yea...you need a lot of patience but if you really want the money and exp then it's worth it and thats a lot of it for that point in the game...

2 hours plus the time to level up...

That's something I might have done when it first came out on the PS and I had plenty of time to waste, but that's too much for nowadays. It doesn't even count much for bragging rights anymore.

My suggestion for fun would be to use Gameshark cheats, max out your magic, equip the Soul Eater rune, and hit him with a couple Judgment blasts.

I just did this, I used 20 Angry Blow item cards, and had 2 pairs of Winged Boots on Riou and 1 pair on Nanami. My total game time is a lultastic 10 hours right now and I'm barely at the army battle at Viktor's Fort.

Riou jumped from level 14 to 22, and was the only survivor of the battle, Nanami almost made it but got wiped at the last second.

All that Rowd says is "You've been lucky up until now but your luck has run out!

You can't fight forever. This is the end Riou..." And you get $10k

i beat rowd, took a really long time and alot of tries, never ever did 14, don't know how you got him to do that, highest with mukamuka was 6...i did it on the console version but i dont think that makes a difference...and it got really really really really annoying when he healed...but for those of you that don't know the only way to survive long enough to kill him is to use the earth rune items that you find in the mountain, it raises your defense enough to get hit for 1 to like 4.

How did you engage the battle with Rowd? Is this the part of the game where you return to Kyaro for the first time? I don't think I've had the option to fight him before. I don't know if it matters that I have the NTSU version.

When he comes to arrest you just say the second option which is "NO!!!!!" rather than "Captain....why?" Rowd will then say "I guess we have to get rough!" and the battle will commence.

I don't have any troubles with unites attacks on emulator..

The matter is the famous horrible sound glitch , who is more frequant in the ntsc version , thats why i chosed the pal one.

Wow,i never could defeat rowd,i defeat mist shade when all allies died to level up Riou level to max,but i could´n.Hey,is true tha in suikoden (iso with emulador) it is imposible use unite attack? no one in the video use that option,because i tried too but the game goes into a error.

first he start using water rune for heal (100 hp)3 or 4 time.

And at the edge of the death is power get a boost.

Anyways my save file was at around 11hours at this point (thanks to frame skip for leveling..)
