9 days, 26 lbs, is way too fast for someone to lose( life is not the biggest loser), you didn't become this way overnight and you won't be a skinny minnie overnight either. Just be patient, you'll do it! I'll be praying for you!!
I can understand your frustration! Everyone loses at a different speed. I also lost a lot in the first week or two and then it majorly slowed down.... then it's like a pound a week or two pounds or no loss. Are you going to the bathroom ok? Because that could be a reason for some weight not coming off faster, or you might be retaining a little water. I also had a hard time getting all my liquid in at the beginning - and I still have to constantly remind myself. You will lose!! :-) It's not easy!
I highly suggest you cut out sugar! Also, I lost LESS than 20 by 6 weeks out, started out at a higher weight than you, AND extended the full liquids phase so, don't worry about it, you are doing fine!! :D
I had a 3 week period where I balanced out at 0lb lost, and that is still early out from surgery!!! Then, I dropped 6lb in one week! The human body is a complex machine... hang in there!!!!
Not a failure! I dealt with this as well, but it does come off if you continue to strive to meet your nutrtional requirements set by your surgeon. I would cut out the sweet tea, wasted calories. Crystal light prob has a sweet tea version or brew and use Stevia to sweeten. Try fat free plain greek yogurt and sweeten and flavor with sugar free syrup or sf jello powder, 23 g pro in 1 cup, cottage cheese. Hope surgeon and Nut have suggestions.
You're doing what you need to do. The sweet tea isn't helping things - it' keeping you out of ketosis with all the protein you're eating. Try sweetening it with Truvia or Stevia. It's a no cal sweetener made from Chrysanthemum flowers - natural and tasty.
The fluids are also key - your liver needs water to process out the fat.
26lbs is still more than most would lose in 6 weeks!
@gettingtothefinish I know the sweet tea isn't helping the cause...it's just so dang hard to give up!!! I am doing my best to get all of the water in! Thanks for the response!
I have more to say-- Watch my vids about my crazy Zumba thing and my Gym like its my job commitment vid- it turned everything around! and trust me when I say -- it got a little scary now as to getting used to who this person is-- -it is the exercise-- and you can come to love it and become addicted to that too! it isn't just about the food.
@cabernetqueen I will do! I need to get addicted to the gym. I just didn't want to start working out until I got the ok from my doctor! I think he will give me the ok on Monday!
GIRL firned- I started at at 248-- Jan 09- I went into surgery 11/2 at 225- and as of this AM I am 6 months 1 week out and am at 158.4--- I lost soooo slowly! really I did! I have a really slow resting metabolism-- are you a PEAR? they are the slowest to burn! I was so down in Jan & Feb -- so slow ugh! then in March I made a commitment to the gym -like it was my job- to the gym- 1 class a day-( can't leave until over) and walk the dog 1 hr, faster loss- bought Body Bugg-(april) lost faster!
Keep your chin up! let us know what your doctor thinks. No you cant compare with everyone. I lost 100lbs in 99 days then hellokitty7696 73lbs in 9 months. I am sure every one would like to loose like me but our bodies are different.. good luck and hang in there.
Your doing great! You however need to cut out the sweet teas until you are much farther out. But it sounds like you are on track with everything else. Keep up the good work!
@AmySDMOM Amy you have no idea how much better that does make me feel! Especially since you are sporting a size 6 now!!! I have watched you since the begining of my journey being that we are sleeve sisters and all! Hey did you ever post a video on the tips from your brother?
absolutely don't feel like a failure. easier said than done but really chin up. 6 weeks... 26 pounds???? how cool is that. go to the grocery store and put 26 boxes of butter in the cart... to carry 26 pounds of sugar up and down the isle... that's 26 pounds you did not have a couple of months! yes, some do lose faster and perhaps your doc and nutritionist can give you tips... and sometimes not getting enough food will also make you not lose...starvation mode as you mentioned... hang in there
@seemego2150 I am starting to feel a little ridiculous for freaking out and I am losing just slowly! I guess as americans we are conditioned to get everything "right now!"
@olive4beauty i think we all freak out through this journey. i have lost over 80 pounds and when i catch a glimps of me in the mirror getting out of the shower i don't see the change! my body is still the same same and frumpy! pisses me off...but hey - it's me - even if it does make me freak out once in a while i know it IS REALLY different than when i started.
Sorry to hear you are struggling. I know between 5-7 weeks I lost nothing, total stall. I would try cutting out the sweet teas and see if that helps. I hope the nutrionist has some answers for you next week. Thinking of you!
LaDonna oh how I love that name but of course since I named my daughter that lol. I feel your pain I was already at a stahl at 6 months and at 7 weeks I think I lost maybe 1/2 lb it was around that time. It will work for you but please remember that your right you started even weight lower than most and that will make you lose slower than those of us that were 300 or more so keep a smile it will work
I've cut out the sweet teas i was getting from mc donalds all the time. they are filled with sugar it's crazy! i got carried away with carbs and sweets but i've stopped that now. so i;m hoping in the next couple weeks i'll see a big difference. wish me luck. so really try and get your protein and water in, it's important because it'll help with the weight loss. hope this helps. keep us updated. take care.
@hellokitty7696 I am glad to hear I am not the only one that loses slow! i guess that we can look on a positive note that maybe the elasticity in the skin will catch up to the new body faster:D It is so hard to give up sweet tea!!! I will do it though
I'm a slow loser too. in 9 months i've only lost 73 lbs. i'm greatful for that because I could not do that on my own but i know what you mean when you watch others videos and they drop weight like crazy! I wished by now that I would have atleast lost 100 lbs but i have to face the facts and just accept how i lose weight. i do protein shakes about 2 a day and have started drinking alot of water now.
