It's amazing how many people are ignoring the author's comment on how the songs were arranged by the feeling they produce and not the anime they show up in which should be irrelevant. For me the song Town, When the flow of time, People, was the saddest song on this list however Clannad isn't my favorite anime from this list nor do I think it's the saddest from this list. That being said, although no one's opinion will be completely bias free, I'd like to think I kept mine less bias based.

@xXCrunchGXx i think i've said this before, but i decided the rankings based on the emotions i feel when listening to the song, with the anime storyline having very little contribution. i think i should have placed bratja higher up on the list though, but i still find sadness and sorrow to have a sadder tune

I used to follow the story like religion... and even though I don't keep up with it anymore, the song itself is always stuck out to me... its just a very sad song, it makes me teary eyed just listening to it. Bratja though I think is just beautiful, not sad, I also followed that story and its sad, but as far as the song is concerned I think it is just exquisite. Anyways great job, you know sad music when you hear it ^_^

The last song (Sadness and Sorrow) realy speaks out to me. Each time i hear this song it allways makes me remember the past. in Naruto it makes me remember about team seven and all of the memories they had, but it isn't just team seven. it's all the characters. I think the meaning of this song is to get a message out to everyone that it's okay to be sad once and awhile and cry you're eyes out. But in the end you should be happy and just remember all the good times you've had in you're life. :)

It should be "Snowfield" for Clannad, not "Town, Flow of Time, People." Snowfield is by far much more sad sounding, Though they are both really great tracks regardless and accomplish that sense of sorrow and sadness.
