I love my Kia Sportage! I got a red LX sportage and I got hated the "femine" base rims (not the ones in the video) We took it to Discount Tire and I got some nice 17" Black Chaos 5 rims put on it, it looks tough and wide after this transformation!

I love my '11 LX Sportage, love everything about it except I've gotten reports from people driving behind me that when I turn my turn signal on during the day, they didn't know and couldn't tell they were on because they are so low and away from the attractive taillights, so this could be a problem in the future... I may need to either get bright bright led's to replace them or have some higher ones installed :(

my 2011 i30cw (hyundai elantra touring in the us) has the same rear seat down cargo capacity as this vehicle for pretty much half the price. It is the beta II cvvt though, and the autos are only 4 speed though(I have 5 speed manual). I guess if you enjoy a cuv over an extended hatch you would still get this vehicle, but the price doesn't seem justifiable.
@jupitersj the sportage is a completely different vehicle. the kia has a model that compares to the elantra at the same price point. you can not compare cars by the cargo capicity.

No one is offroading in a kia sportage with a car chassis though having awd would rock for winter. It seats the same amount of persons with the same dimension comfort and carries the same cu ft cargo; I don't see the practicality or it's purpose I guess. I'm sure it's worth the asking price design wise, I just don't see its value is what I mean.

Everything except for the roof and the drive train is plastic, but it still runs pretty damn good. I think this new Kia Sportage is an awesome vehicle. Consumer Reports gave it a pretty good rating. Shes the best female reviewer I've seen; compared to kbb, cars.com, motortrend, etc. She actually seems like shes interested in cars, has good valid opinions, and she seems like she knows what shes talking about. Great job!
This new Sportage just got a 5 star crash rating and will hold its value better than any competitor in its class..The six speed tranny is a work of art that took Hyundai 4 years to develop in house and has 62 less moving parts than competitors and is sealed with no dipstick..The Theta 2 engine is also a fine peice of hardware is virtually indisrtible and idles so smooth you think it has stalled at the lights!! One more thing is that 60% of the body is made with high tensile steel which is safe.
This KIA is nice but 30grand??? I could buy a Tahoe for that kind of money and haul around my whole family in a more comfortable environment..anyways.....I like it but i think fully loaded sportage should top out around 25 grand...
I went and looked at some used Mercedes that were about 3 to 4 years old. They had broken plastic pieces on the dash, two of them ran like garbage. I like the way they look but I would worry about replacing the stuff that breaks on them. I think all the companies are pretty decent now. Ford was rated the same level as Toyota "before the throttle problem". So with the KIA warranty, even if it had some problems, who owns a new car for more than 10 years? I like em, I buy them. I'm happy with them.
Now KIA and Hyundai make very good cars. Hyundai has less recalls than Honda. And the resale is very good because of the warranty. If they were crap Hyundai and KIA would go out of business with a warranty like that. Honda is 3 yrs 30K. I had a 2k Hyundai Elantra and I now have a 2007 Spectra. Neither have given me any problems. My ex-wife's 89 prelude was not very good, broke a lot and the sheet metal was thin and bent every time a door touched it. Interior was falling apart.
@DOHC66 Amen, bro. I've had 2 Hyundais over the past over 16 years. I have an '06 Tucson and love it. People have this, "If something sucked once, it must suck now," attitude. Even Japanese cars sucked at first. People think they have to love one thing and hate another. If you like Chevy, you've got to hate Ford. I don't hate Hondas or Toyotas at all. They're great cars. I've just been personally sold on Hyundais. They're only getting better--which seems to bug some people 4 some reason.
People keep using the past to rate a car. KIA was bought by Hyundai in 2000 something and they share Hyundai engines, drive trains. Honda were not that good when they first made cars. Plastic everything, underpowered along with problems. My friend works in Detroit as an engineer and sends me data all the time. One particular piece of data showed the recalls for Honda compared to Hyundai. Honda has had a recall every year the have made cars. It's all marketing, just like Toyota.
I have had BMW , Lexus , vw and Audi . I have bought the new KIA sportage for my wife and take it out instead of my Lexus . Love this car everything about it is quality .
The Sportage and Tucson is at least six inches shorter than most competitor, even a five year old would realize that the Sportage won't have as much cargo space as other competitors ... I still like the compact size of the Sportage especially in small city parking lots.

I saw this car at a stop light, it looked very good face to face. just didn't like the taighlits from the 3/4 front view, didn't get to see it from the back yet :P
I got basically this car minus the nav, sunroof, and leather. Same color w/ black interior. I've had people approach me and compliment it and ask some questions. It's a great car, have had it since the end of august.
She is right; those c pillars are huge. :< The fact that that rear window is so small doesn't make things look any better besides "stylish". However, I'm FINALLY starting to like what Kia is doing with their crossovers. Now, Kia, please show us some REAL tests of the AWD system in the Kia crossovers. :D Go Kia! I want more videos of the Kia Sportage and Sorento going off-road.

The Kia Sportage starts at $18,295 while the Toyota RAV4 has half the features of the sportage at an MSRP of $21,925, the Hynudai Tuscon is similarly priced with similar features but at a higher cost not to mention its alot smaller then the Sportage aswell. The Honda CR-V is $21,695 with no where near the listed options in a Sportage.

WOW.. I love this car way better than any other brands.. Kia and Hyundai are on their way of success. I love their design team, they are now on good taste.
Soon to have one, and it will surely be nice to look at my parking space with my 2011 tucson beside it.

HEY WTF 21 MPG IN CITY , THATS 5.2 SOMETHING KM PER LITRE IN CITY , THOUGH THE CAR IS GOOD AND I LOVE THE INSURANCE OF 10 YEARS AND 5 RESPECTIVELY , BUT THE ECONOMY SUCKS . I THINK I WILL STICK WITH FORD NEW MODEL . WHICH GIVES 14 KM PER LITRE .

This new Sportage just got a 5 star crash rating and will hold its value better than any competitor in its class..The six speed tranny is a work of art that took Hyundai 4 years to develop in house and has 62 less moving parts than competitors and is sealed with no dipstick..The Theta 2 engine is also a fine peice of hardware is virtually indisrtible and idles so smooth you think it has stalled at the lights!! One more thing is that 60% of the body is made with high tensile steel which is safe.

This KIA is nice but 30grand??? I could buy a Tahoe for that kind of money and haul around my whole family in a more comfortable environment..anyways.....I like it but i think fully loaded sportage should top out around 25 grand...

I went and looked at some used Mercedes that were about 3 to 4 years old. They had broken plastic pieces on the dash, two of them ran like garbage. I like the way they look but I would worry about replacing the stuff that breaks on them. I think all the companies are pretty decent now. Ford was rated the same level as Toyota "before the throttle problem". So with the KIA warranty, even if it had some problems, who owns a new car for more than 10 years? I like em, I buy them. I'm happy with them.

Now KIA and Hyundai make very good cars. Hyundai has less recalls than Honda. And the resale is very good because of the warranty. If they were crap Hyundai and KIA would go out of business with a warranty like that. Honda is 3 yrs 30K. I had a 2k Hyundai Elantra and I now have a 2007 Spectra. Neither have given me any problems. My ex-wife's 89 prelude was not very good, broke a lot and the sheet metal was thin and bent every time a door touched it. Interior was falling apart.

@DOHC66 Amen, bro. I've had 2 Hyundais over the past over 16 years. I have an '06 Tucson and love it. People have this, "If something sucked once, it must suck now," attitude. Even Japanese cars sucked at first. People think they have to love one thing and hate another. If you like Chevy, you've got to hate Ford. I don't hate Hondas or Toyotas at all. They're great cars. I've just been personally sold on Hyundais. They're only getting better--which seems to bug some people 4 some reason.

People keep using the past to rate a car. KIA was bought by Hyundai in 2000 something and they share Hyundai engines, drive trains. Honda were not that good when they first made cars. Plastic everything, underpowered along with problems. My friend works in Detroit as an engineer and sends me data all the time. One particular piece of data showed the recalls for Honda compared to Hyundai. Honda has had a recall every year the have made cars. It's all marketing, just like Toyota.

I have had BMW , Lexus , vw and Audi . I have bought the new KIA sportage for my wife and take it out instead of my Lexus . Love this car everything about it is quality .

The Sportage and Tucson is at least six inches shorter than most competitor, even a five year old would realize that the Sportage won't have as much cargo space as other competitors ... I still like the compact size of the Sportage especially in small city parking lots.

I got basically this car minus the nav, sunroof, and leather. Same color w/ black interior. I've had people approach me and compliment it and ask some questions. It's a great car, have had it since the end of august.

She is right; those c pillars are huge. :< The fact that that rear window is so small doesn't make things look any better besides "stylish". However, I'm FINALLY starting to like what Kia is doing with their crossovers. Now, Kia, please show us some REAL tests of the AWD system in the Kia crossovers. :D Go Kia! I want more videos of the Kia Sportage and Sorento going off-road.

If your complaining about a starting MSRP of $18,295 then I wonder If a Toyota corrolla is to expensive for you? This is a bargian and I think anyone would agree with me, this car doesnt go over $29,000 and for that you get every feature that would cost you thousands in other cars, panoramic sunroof, navi system, LED DTR lights, Leather appointed seats.A toyota RAV4 cost more!

@MrLegion2 Give me a figure?? what Price exactly did you have in mind for this SUV, its one of the cheapest SUV's in its class, all its rivals are more expensive. The Kia Sportage starts at $18,295 while the Toyota RAV4 has half the features of the sportage at an MSRP of $21,925, the Hynudai Tuscon is similarly priced with similar features but at a higher cost not to mention its alot smaller then the Sportage aswell. The Honda CR-V is $21,695 with no where near the listed options in a Sportage.
