    awesome..

  • Very, very nice. Also a Marin Gross fan.

  • BEAUTIFUL TONE! I don't know much about Dobros, but I'm guessing that's an expensive instrument. It has such a sweet, rich, tone - very classy, as are you. Thanx from Kalamazoo.

  • what do you have this tuned in

  • Hi, hm don't remember at all, think i found the tuning on Martin Gross version of the song. Good luck//Nille

  • Hi,

    Beautifully played...I'm in awe.

    Which reso is that?

    Thanks

    Alan

  • Beautiful! After 40 years of playing the guitar mainly classical and electric blues I am embarking on a serious study of dobro played with a steel. Very inspiring, thanks!

  • omigod, you play so smoothly, how do you do it??

    is that a glass slide?

    are those light gauge strings?

huge woody tone, really quite awesome, and beautiful subtle voicings on the chords, cheers

  • The slide for a dobro played like this would usually be a metal bar, the heavier mass would give a better tone - note it's held, not worn on a finger. The strings would be inclined toward heavy again for the same tonal reasons, also the action would be quite high as a square neck dobro isn't designed to be fretted - you can see how high the action must be by the way the third finger of the left hand pulls notes to raise the pitch, at 0.38 and the last chord at 1.13. And it's a lovely sound.

  • wow

  • AWESOME, i tried to play that song too with a whole lot of feeling...not easy!!! how you play that song is great, i hope in time, i can play it with lots of soul...greetings-kurt-belgium !!!
