The thing about the British sense of humor is that we have lots of fairly third dimensional elements to it. We really like our 'tounge in cheek' stuff. 'Irony' and 'sarcasm'. Look at some of the greatest british sitcoms ever: Black Books, The Young Ones, Fawlty Towers. Why do we laugh when bad stuff happens to the main characters? Because they aren't actually nice people. That's why American sitcoms don't seem all that funny to me, because they have likeable protagonists.

I'm from the Philippines and I don't find these thing racist, in fact i find it really funny.
But the more funny thing is in my country, there are a lot stereotype jokes about Africans, Chinese, Indians, Europeans, Americans, Middle Easter, There's even joke about Amerasian and Eurasians etc. But I've NEVER heard or see a protest from those people i mentioned.
