hey, hows it going, well, it depends, with the hilux surfs, there are many to stay away from, and many good ones, i think, as long as u find one, that has been looked after, and the engine is alll ok, then you should be ok. I myself have had the car for 1 year and abit, and it has given me NO problems whatsoever, it has been great. If you do get one, definitely go for the 3.0 turbo diesel engine, dont buy a 2.4, they have less power,,
my dad has a 2.4, and the engine blew up on him... so, if you do get one, make sure to service it every 5000 km, and you should be ok, they are very good cars, but because they are a jap import car, you have to be picky and choose wisely, i hope this has helped for you, and sorry for the late reply, take it easy, tayler
hi, well, im not sure how much hp and torque i get, but i do know, that it is very very powerful for a hilux surf, better pickup than my dads 2005 hilux diesel ute! as for the mileage, i get around (350-450) city driving , and close to (500-550) country driving, it burns very rich, but goes soo good!, i did take it to autosport, and they did put it on a dyno run, but didnt tell me the torque or hp, just told me it burns rich. definitely get one,
well, the guy i bought it off spent alot of money on the engine, put a ball bearing garret turbo in, took out the old one, put a PWR water intercooler, and a dc power chip, ive still got the old turbo, but it goes so much better with the garret ball bearing turbo, thats about all the work it has had done to then engine, next is the suspension, the surfs dont have the best suspension, so i think ill do that next :)
it is definitely better to try find one with the engine work done, unless you want to spend over 7k on the engine, then better to get one with work done already, they are good cars, need to be regulary serviced thats all, hope this has helped, al the best,... tayler
Have you had any problems with this car ? im looking at getting the same one, but so many people have told me not to bother.
