  • hi, why do you put some concrete betwene the tires?

  • @ingesumadre The tires sometimes do not line through out the entire wall so we used these as spacers half way on the first 5 rows. Once we were past the 5 rows we went with half tires.

  • Hi, nice vids series! Very interesting project, I am curious how you did continue the building, is there more info and vids to see since the last at 2008? Thnx.

  • Yes construction continued over the summer of 2009 with no videos. The economy has slowed the progress but this 2010 spring look for many new videos of our project. You can also see the latest pictures on our website or Facebook Fan page. Search Peaceful Acres Lavender Farm.

    Thanks!

  • @Rai2be I do have more images on our Facebook fan page under Peaceful Acres Lavender Farm. We do have a workshop coming up in August if your interested?

  • We love this vid.

  • Ya I Know it's like using a diesel powered wheel barrel!!

  • I hope you don't mind answering a couple questions...

Does the wall not have to be insulated or waterproofed before backfilling? Do you have to provide drainage?

    Thanks in advance!

  • During back filling the last foot I will install a thick rubber roofing material. Rubber layer then gets covered with dirt to fill the last 1 foot over the rubber. This moisture barrier will extend from the roof to the edge of the outside berm. No drainage needed due to ship built on higher ground than surrounding land.

    Good question thanks!
