I guess he has some safety feature that won't let him open the claw over the hopper. When I worked at WM, my old McNeilus ASL would drop them in no problem.
I hate running them side claw trucks. Id rather be in a front loader anyday

I have seen that once a long time ago with a rapid rail bin. The driver drops the bin into the hopper and drives off.
