Not only is the service disproportionally more expensive than other routes (it costs me more to travel one way (£13) from Ayr to Stranraer than it does to travel return to Glasgow(£8.85)), but the service is very infrequent and doesn't connect with the ferry. So when I leave the ferry at 1020 on a Wednesday morning, I have to wait until 1240 for the train. This, for a railway that was built to serve the ferry, is a shambles.
