  • So this is a Type B right? Do you guys have any Type C (which can and are allowed to go out of ground effect higher than 150 meters) and if yes are videos of that available?

  • "Иволга2" всё равно лучше.

  • Chinese don't invent, they copy!

  • i cant wait this one:

    Flying Cruise Ship...

  • Fly in ground effect is the same as flying at higher altitude, same aerodynamics and physics laws, weight, wing span, drag…all follow same bases.

  • To make a boat fly you don’t just stick wings to it, you deal with same aerodynamic factors of an airplane. You need a strong structure but lightweight, so you will end up with a monocoque type (same as airplanes), to propel in the air you will need a propeller, to give stability you will need an Empennage To control it in the air you need, elevators for pitch attitude, ailerons to be able to turn, rudder to avoid slips or skids and compensate for crosswinds. So it is a boat or an aircraft?

  • This is not an ekranoplan, but a hydroplane, or a small sea plane, chinese shit. That plane will not show any ground effect within that altitude. Stupid chineses :D

  • Wow, that is some salesman !

  • your english... lol

  • Problems with the deployment of WIG craft around the world: the local authority giving permit for high speed craft to travel in their sea lane. few countries permit such craft to travel, while others are wait and see attitude. while the technology has already ripe for deployment.

  • I'd like to see what the FAA has to say about it! Looks really dangerous!

  • hellrowww?

  • The Caspian is a fantastic weapon. and could be commercially viable. The fuel ratio will increase considerable when armour is removed and weapon platforms go. Cutting weight and drag increases viability. A small Island can choose a new airport or put a parking lot at the beach. Excellent for seasonal destinations and developing nations. I say max commercial range 200 miles.

  • Does this need an aircraft pilot's license to operate? Also, what's to prevent the craft from rising a lot higher than "sea skimming height"? Do these craft do well in strong winds? I noticed that the sea seemed very calm.

  • Mate , the a/c cannot create enough lift to fly clear of ground-effect. Consequently, once it gets to a certain height - say 10 feet or so, it is then unable toto climb any higher.

  • @thatcatsonlygot1eye This craft can Jump... 100 feet above sea level.

WIG craft there are 3 types: Type A: fly at 1 to 3 meter above sea level.

Type B: cruise at 3 meter to 50 meter above sea level, taking short time Jump....to avoid obstacle.

Type C: it can cruise at 3 meter or fly like a plane to 1000 meter ...

So Sea Eagle according to the website is a Type B WIG.

Till date, I have not seen a Type C civilian WIG

  • @ecogreensingapore

This craft is no WIG craft Type B because don;t jump but stays in flight outside of ground effect mode, is just a hydroplane with WIG craft capabillities. For that reason don't have any certification for WIG craft Type B frolm any authority or classification society.

  • @flightboat ah. the current plane is in Nanjing and it has already gotta Australian certification as WIG. It is a class B. and It also has China certification as WIG

currently there is even a WIG school for WIG pilots already... I have spoken to the company, and even went to the place.

  • @ecogreensingapore

All about certifications (from China or Australia) claimed by Chris Holloway CEO of Sea Eagle International. Even IMO doesn't have rules for WIG craft Type B. I have asked a IMO expert about this subject.

  • @ecogreensingapore

For a true certification for a WIG craft just visit the sites of Singaporean company Wigetworks or Russia company ATTK JSC. They have post in their web sites the documents.

  • @flightboat A customer just want the plane produced and be able to be used.

While airfish can claim to have all the certification in the world, it cannot fly anywhere else. even in singapore. I saw that big newspaper about them. but no it is not flying in singapore yet.

Lets get the facts right, customers want to have something that can fly in their own destination. WIG is not meant for international flying, until it has special permit... WIG is for island hopping purposes,

  • @ecogreensingapore

So the prototype can't be used for travel in commercial this is a logical but it is can used as a demo and training craft. Next month in Korea will show up a update model of WIG craft based in German Hoverwing technology, that it is can carry 50 passengers. If you want to see somthing as a client then think that someone else must put his hand in their pocket to invest money.

A certified craft is that count in commercial use, all other crafts is just attempts.

  • @ecogreensingapore

Propably you can read the certification (by MPA authority) in their web site. Certification means that a craft can be used safely as a commercial transporation mean. This craft that you have seen in videos is the prototype, this mean that the company (in Singapore) must set up a production line. For a company with no any experience in construction of a WIG craft this is very difficult. The prototype that you have seen in videos has build in Germany 10 years ago.

  • @ecogreensingapore

If you are a customer that you want to order and used a WIG craft just visit the site of Russia company ATTK JSC, for Aquaglide-5 a certified craft for 4 passengers, price around 400,000 euros with 20,000 euros for training of 2 craft members (1 captain + 1 engeneer). Theyy have a production line for this craft and 4 crafts are ready for deliver. Also this WIG craft is the first commercial craft in USA (Bahamas) few years ago (11 crafts as water taxi).

  • @flightboat Never mind about your Russian craft, cos we have Sea Eagle flying china and australia.

  • @ecogreensingapore

Also another WIG craft from Russia is in production years now. This is called ivolga, a 12seater + 2 crew members. A US company (WIG Craft USA) has production rights for this craft. They have operational some crafts. Craft price is 1,5 US$ and craft has a certification as WIG Type A (by RMRS) and not as a WIG Type B like it is. Also now in Germany is on production (11 crafts) a WIG craft Type A with 23 seats for Indonesia. Sea Eagle is a seaplane not a WIG Type B.

  • @flightboat New Russian WIG (ekranoplan) based of Ivolga development. I can name it as next step of Ivolga success: aquagen.ru/eng/planes/akvaplan

  • @ecogreensingapore

WIG Type B says: a craft which is certified to temporarily increase its altitude to a limited height outside the influence of ground effect but not exceeding 150 m above the surface; and (it also submits to requirements IMO, is capable (if necessary) to increase short-term height of flight for over-fly of another a vessel, an obstacle or other purposes.Limitation of height in 150m is monitored an ICAO)

  • @ecogreensingapore

The only well prove of WIG craft concepts are: a) German Dr. Alexander Lippisch and Hanno Fischer (later on) , b) Dr. Rostislav Alexeeiv (Ekranoplans) c) Bartini d) Dr. Jurgen Tandem Airfoil e) Dr. Dimitri Sinitsin (Amphistar and Aquaglide-5) f) Mr. Kolganov (ivolga).

All the others just seeking for a commercial WIG craft.

  • @flightboat Thank you for your introduction and your well in depth knowledge about WIG craft, but this channel is meant to be a introduction for Sea Eagle WIG craft, which has been certified as a WIG craft, with IMO safety code to operate in both Australia and CHINA.

  • @pingfaninsg

One important question: How is Sea Eagle certified as a WIG craft Type B in comliance of IMO safety code? IMO Safety code don't have any rules for WIG craft Type B classification because ICAO is responsible for rules for WIG crafts flying outside gound effect altitude. Many WIG craft prototypes make demo flights in various juristictions this is not mean that are certified for commercial use, many are certified as experimental models only.

  • @flightboat You have no idea how this works! You believe it flies by the same aerodynamic effect of a hovercraft..Hilarious!!! That along proof you have 0 knowledge of these machines. The only difference between fly in GE and at any altitude is just airspeed. While in GE, the lifting force of the wings INCREASES, so an aircraft can get airborne at SLOWER speeds while close to the ground, want to get higher? Just add a little trust to compensate! Thanks for delete my post at your video ...looser!

  • @gema244

You are a great stubid and dangerous pilot too. I have delete youe posts idiot because we don;t want to read your nonsenses. Try to read some book for WIG crafts before you spell out because you are very idiot.

  • @flightboat I already know aerodynamics is nonsense for you. My intentions when I posted in your video was to share my opinion, sorry if I expose your ignorance on this matter. You approach to these machines are the same as a 8 y/old kid, You believe they fly on a “magic bubble” of air and can be flown by a boat’s captain by filtered commands, either you are 8 y/old, or some mentally retarded living in your parent’s basement. Uploading videos from others doesn’t make you an expert.

  • @ecogreensingapore

Another Korea WIG craft in mass production: ARON-7 by C&S AMT, this is a 5seater WIG craft Type B, but in fact is a seaplane (flies outside from gound effect a long time and not jump for avoid obstacles up to 150 meters).

  • @thatcatsonlygot1eye It can fly above 100 feet... according to the last modification, and it cannot last more than 10 minutes in flight of 100 feet.

This is known as WIG jump

  • @thatcatsonlygot1eye A WIG type B can fly above 100 feet, and this Sea Eagle has fly more than 100 feet above the sea level, to avoid obstacles. which is known as dynamic jump

  • @thatcatsonlygot1eye An A/C generates its lift with airspeed, more airspeed = more lift. The only difference in ground effect (GE) is that the wings generate more lift at same airspeed. SO an A/C is capable of fly SLOWER in GE while still generating enough lift to stay aloft, and that same airspeed won’t generate sufficient lift at higher altitude. But that only if you fly at MINIMUMS and close to stall airspeed. Accelerate your craft a few 10 or 15 Kt and you will be able to fly higher.

  • @briquetaverne been in the craft, and according to the pilots in the training school.

It can travel in wave Level 3 condition. wave level 1 : calm sea. wave level 5 is extremely rough...

  • lol

  • great boat or shit plane?

  • both

  • Sea Skimeuws.

  • Russian 60-80 s hi tec

  • this is air plane or ship. whats?

    Eu nao entendi o que é ?

  • It is ship "ekranopane"

  • this is classify as a ship... according to the IMO, and therefore the price is half of that of a plane...

    e.g.

plane will be insured at 100,000 USD

ship will be insured at 10,000 usd

  • i want one!!!!

  • It is small capsian sea monster for commerical purposes. Since the old soviet technology consume lots of fuel, while sea eagle is consume only 30-40litres of fuel/ hr...

  • lol what revolution, it is old soviet technology, look on caspean monster

  • Those old soviet ekranoplans were big monstrosities, this is a small civil version.

  • Do you really think, Soviets build just 500-tonn machine from zero, and no small planes?

This "revolution" is a kind of bad analog of Volga-2 (30 years old). :)

  • Russian Millitary Capesan Monster, is a 500 ton monster, that consume fuel more than 3 times its own weight. It is never meant to be fuel efficient, and commercial viable.

this small WIG for cilivian purpose, has actually become a fuel efficient plane that consume 30 litres of fuel per hour, and it is meant for commercial viability.

  • caspian monster won´t consume 1600 tons of fuel.

  • it actualy does :P

  • the km caspian sea monster had 544 ton payload, what payload have the sea eagle ?????

  • @619cactusjack caspian sea monster will never be manufactured again, according to my russian source. since it is for millitary usage. but sea eagle is meant for cilivian commercial usage.

  • @pingfaninsg

But its not revolutionary .Its based on Ekranoplan. Besides.. Russian and German also work on Civil Ekranoplan. + Russian do have big size Civil Transport schematics for mass produce.

I don't see nothing revolutionary. Just healthy competing .

  • Where can I buy the plane
