  • to all those who were in high school when this song was made, you are now getting old.. (kidding)

  • Jude Cole is a great singer. Love him

  • -----Great Song !!! what a great artist........and soooooooo good looking !! xo

  • Just a great song from an underated performer....

  • Comment removed

  • And...He is Kiefer Sutherland's brother-in-law!!

  • My Dad got me into Jude Cole. Sixteen, and love this kind of music :)

  • lindo video

  • Great songs hold up over the years...like this one.

  • @Mygreycharles I was wondering the same thing, she's beautiful.

  • where's 'stranger to myself' at???

  • This is one of my all time faves! Great song. Kind of a one hitter wonder. Great words, beat, presentation at least in my book. Blasting in my car via CD recording. Where are they today? Lost. Enjoy!

  • Who is the chick?

  • i love finding songs i have not heard for many many years!! like finding a buried teasure =)

  • when did this song come out?

  • @chriswatkinsdotcom summer of 1990.

  • The most under-rated guy ever on the radio. Movie star handsome, brilliant songwriting, great singing, I think he got written off as a "pop pretty boy" and didn't get the airplay deserved or the promo effort from his label.

  • @scottyhemenway Well, his career as a songwriter continues to be successful. He has co-written many songs for Lifehouse with Lifehouse lead singer Jason Wade.

  • He is a pretty big producer!

he did fine for himself!! :)

    a real cutie he is!

  • Criminally underrated artist. This album had zero promotion. I discovered him & the album when I won it from a south Florida radio station & played it til it wore out. This song is amazing. He plays dobro, 12 & 6 string guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, produced, arranged, and what a stunning singer & songwriter. I heard he stopped writing & performing & manages other artists now. What a shame someone so talented got zero support from his record label & the industry.

  • He cute

  • @58936865233 He once was, back then. But he now has much shorter hair and glasses, and he just don't look the same. :)

  • @tall32guy Yeah, well I don't look the same that I did then either so lol, time marches on.

  • @58936865233 Yep! :)

  • @tall32guy :( lol

  • Special Request, I need a copy of WORLD'S APART uploaded to YouTube, can you help me!!! There is not one copy out there.

  • I'd love to hear him recapture the magic of this song!!

  • All his CD's ROCK!!! But he's been in the producer chair for lifehouse. He said on his site it's time for me to record. I've forgotten what i sound like. Can't wait for some new stuff!

His newest release " Lovin you ain't loving me"

  • I wish he would tour--I never got to see him live!

  • Jude Cole was in a band called The Records on Virgin Records. They were from London, England and Jude was the only American in the band. They released about 3 albums. The two main singers were John Wicks and Jude. Both of them are now part of the Los Angeles music scene. I wouldn't be surprised if Jude and John have done or will do a reunion tour with The Records, as they have a cult following with fans of power pop and punk music.

  • This tune is on my gym workout song list, when it goes to chorus I do some fancy feet dancin', I imagine people think I'm nuts but they smile and start grooving to their own music, I think they feel inspired to drop the serious attitude, let loose and enjoy the celebration of life and music, dance away cause Baby It's Tonight!

  • BUENISIMO!!!!!

  • Lindo recuerdo de de 1990 del disco A View From 3rd Street. Ya no se escucha su voz, porque está dedicado a la producción de los discos de Lifehouse

  • Great song! Good memories from that time of life.

  • Where is Jude today? He has an amazing voice.

  • The style is totally late 80's -even though it released in '90. BTW I study "decade sprawl" in my spare time. That's the tendency for styles(musical, dress, attitudes, etc) from one decade to bleed into the next - sometimes even beyond(!)

Still - a good solid rock track with emotion and technical accuracy. When Jude launches into the refrains he really betrays his "inner Bryan Adams".

  • Brilliant early 90's track - a lost time in music - after the 80's - just before Kurt Cobain ruined everything.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!! IT REMINDS ME OF HIGH SCHOOL IN THE 80'S I LOVE YOU GREG!!!

  • this was the kind of music played on adult stations 20 years ago. now they have screaming former hip hop hags on adult radio or the blandest politically- connected weirdos.

last heard this on radio in eastern idaho a few years ago. it pays to be heard on radio.

flaky woman ruins this video. nowadays "regular guy" music is some of the biggest crap out there.

  • I still dig this song!...And he is FINE to look at!!

  • Del disco de 1990 "A View from 3rd. Street", esta canción de Jude Cole. Buen recuerdo de lo que fue el inició de la última década del siglo pasado.

  • Love this guy. Whatever happened to him?

  • First heard this when on holiday in Florida it was getting a lot of airplay but it wasn't till years later when again in the US on hol's I found "a View from 3rd St" in the music section of Target and bought it. Jude is a great musician who I wish had made it to the UK I still love his song's and regularly play them

  • omg!! I am making a playlist of songs from 1990 (20 yrs ago)..most of the songs I remember! I havebeen putting in ones that made a decent climb, but don't recognize hoping to find one like this!!! 20 yrs later and I remember!!

  • Great tune, but I like "Get Me Through the Night" even more. Unfortunately can't find it on YouTube.

  • Still have this disc. The late Jeff Porcaro ( Toto ) plays on it as well.

  • I first experienced Jude Cole after finding his " A View From 3rd St" cassette in a 50 cent bin at a local 99 cent store back in '91. picked it up, liked it, turned other people on to it. @ rockerchic63, yea i too wish he could have gone further. the cd still has some of the best tunes i've ever heard. Hallowed Ground is still one of my favs from this man.

  • Jude is sooooooo HOT! And what an amazing voice!

  • buen artista d Soft AOR!!

  • A View From Third Street is one of my all time favorite albums, or cd's.

  • GREAT ALBUM AND VIDEO !

  • My God....his voice sends me!!! Totally underated artist.

  • @MrBrombomb, I thought I was the only one that had noticed a change. Thanks for your comment. Shit like my Sweet 16 clogs up every hour of a once great channel. WTF happened! I know I got older, but this is ridiculous!

  • That's a great point. What happened to MTV? In a galaxy long, long away they actually played music videos. Now, they have switched to somekind of reality based program. I am so sick of reality shows where the main theme is how drunk and stupid they can get! Wake up MTV!! There are still many people who would like to watch and listen to music videos. By the way, great song by Jude. Thanks for posting.

  • @aimeemannfan2010 I agree. MTV stands for Music Television & not Reality Television (should be RTV). Why call it MTV if there is very little or no Music. Fuck these stupid reality shows that both MTV & VH1 are doing! Let's get back to the music videos & Beavis & Butthead! By the way, great song from 1990!

  • back when music was good and mtv still showed videos and was fun 2 watch. now crap tv shows like jersey shore saturate what was once a great channel and was what it ment 2 have cable.

  • @zanijoey, go to hell, this song is great.

  • 3 copies of the CD? He should sent you a thank you card.

  • this song is bittersweet for me, but I will always love it

  • Friggin' Perfect.

    Don't get much better.

  • Agreed. It have special meaning for me too in a past life... Jude is great. Love this guys music...

  • Someone special used to this song to me

  • I have burned thru 3 copies of this cd - never gets old.

  • @IronNomad99

    ouch!

i take it you don't listen to much else!

    ;)

  • this guy is so dreamy..looks, voice, talent...everything...brings back so many memories!!

  • one of his best

  • This song is a brilliant piece of artistic craftmanship: simple, clean, precise, shiny gem of pure gold.

    An authentic timeless wonder.

This song will be around long, long after we're gone.

  • @cryosurgeon Could not be more precisely put.

  • Jude can be really proud of this song: an authentic piece of brilliant artistic craftsmanship. Simple, clean, precise, shiny, spotless gem if I ever saw one.

Be proud Jude...this is a timeless wonder...it'll be played long, long after we're gone.

  • I worked with Jude on "Start the Car" MV back in 1992. He was a sweet heart, real nice guy! We had the black bird in the cage in the background. I was hooked on his music from that day on.

  • This song will never get old. It could be released for the first time today and it would still be a hit.

  • @triptikboy Actually it would never be a hit because music has been destroyed by Clear Channel and others.

  • Fantastic SONG!!

  • It's perfect and more

  • jude cole is cool music !

  • Im still digging this song....* big smile*

  • I have looked all over for this song!!! O.M.G!!! thanks for posting....=)

  • outstanding song. expresses a certain vulnerability yet maintains some dignity. reminds me of lonely times in late 90 or early 91 when this was a hit here in the usa

  • I love this guy!!,,,I wish he coulda made it bigger...he has a great talent ......love this song!!!! Thanks for putting this up, you;re a peach!!

  • @rockerchic63 He is big behind the scenes! He has a production company with keifer Sutherland, has been the brother in law of Michelle Pfeiffer since 1993, manager and songwriter of the band Lifehouse! His credintials are long!! Very talented guy!

  • Jude is way underreated and this song (recorded, video or unplugged) is just all that.

  • START THE CAR IS GOOD, TOO!

  • Thanks for the post!

    HE IS AWESOME!

  • too bad he didnt go farther !! im a player too but this guy should have been huge ! great voice and apparently a good g player too

  • I know Jude ... he's a home towner. Picked him up at LAX in the summer of 1978 when I lived in Placentia. He's the real deal ... player, singer, writer, visionary and still a good freind. Let's just say, fame & fortune (or lack there of) has changed him little over the years. Puts on his pants like everbody else AND God has allowed him a very genuine gift - his voice, his hands & his heart. Hey

    UTHS East Moline, IL!!!

  • Really? ...

  • Yeah Butch, I had a shared apt. w/ a lounge band in orange co. I moved to LA in April of '78. Jude & I were 4 years apart in high school here in IL. He followed me out west & admitted to it being the first time he ever flew when he was on Leno. I only stayed for a year (I'm a player too) - he stuck it out & we've had very different fortunes. 30 plus years later, we're good - glad I know him.

  • OOPS! Errant finger! It's "A View From 3rd Street" , not 23rd..

  • OMG, what an EXCELLENT songwriter! "if I ever needed your eyes to heal me, baby it's tonight". I went through a couple of those kinds of nights. "A View From 23rd Street" is one of my all-time favorite albums. Did he ever make a video for "House Full of Reasons"?

  • wow , its amazing that this guy wasnt huge ... great song ! just another case of record company neglect!! Too bad

  • thanks- this is one great song----Jude deserved more fame.........

  • Everybody loves this song normally. just because perfect!

  • nice giant hoop earring dude

  • @plumbersteve Agreed!

  • I've loved this song for years! I never realized the same person who did "Start the Car" did this song. Fantastic!

  • I LOVED this song! I thought this was from the 80s. It's from 1990? Was it a one hit wonder? Whatever it is, it's a great song! It ages well. To me watching it, it doesn't have a really DATED feel to it.

  • a view from third street and start the car both albums rock

  • Jude Cole is the best male solo music artist of all time. His lyrics, musical genius, and spirt will live FOREVER.

Rock and Roll Jude Cole. The Quad Cities is so proud of your gifts.

    -The Race

  • east moline,yes

  • I still have this on cassette from when I was in high school. lol

I agree with the prior comments..its just a cool song, simple as that. Damn, I'm getting old; this song is from 1990...lol

  • takes me back to living in Cairns for six months back in 90 ....when this was on the radio......driving round in a conncil truck...great song ..

    Leslie

  • Did you ever visit Vic Hislop's Shark museum in Cairns. Is it true that scuba diving operators there preferred to call shark attack vicitims "drowning" vicitms?

  • @cryosurgeon no i didnt know of a shark museum in cairns ..maybe they built it after i left in 91....

    Leslie

  • takes me back. they just dont make music like this anymore thats why the 80's music gets so musch play now. cause music 2day sux!!!

  • Eric Bana is that you?

  • Thanks for adding this song to youtube! I have been looking for it for quite some time!

  • I guess to some that this is a romantic or sexual song...but to me its just about simple love. I often think about how I needed someone when my loved ones died. This song is was cry out for healing a broken heart.

  • I agree with the last text. Jude should have received much more commercial success than he did. I still have the cassettes from the era. Some of the most talented people do go into production, which I realize that he has done with Kiefer as his partner.

  • This is truly oneof the most under-rated songs of all time. This song, like the Hoodoo Gurus' song "Bittersweet" are phenomenally precise and well written. This song and "Bittersweet" should get alot more airtime on the radio in the future, despite being from the 1980's.
