do you have to be a current student at PU, also will I need a BA to teach in Taiwan if have my TESL certificate?

You do not need to be a current student at PU. Yes, you will need a BA or BS (any major) to teach in Taiwan. Schools (employes in Taiwan) will not be able to issue you a VISA if you don't have a BS or BA.
