  • This was so very interesting, thank you

  • @theviolinist23 well second's cool too! lol unfinished symphony was a ton of fun

  • @theviolinist23 haha me too! which section were you in? I was a first violin :D

  • The french originated violin maker Jérémie Legrand learnt to build stringed instruments at the only professional school for lutherie teaching in France "Lycée Jean Baptiste Vuillaume" in Mirecourt (Vosges), from 1990 to 1995.

In this video, he used the french building method with an inside mould instead an outside mould used in the real italian method (copy of Pietro Guarneri violin)

  • please try to get your fact rights, it is the other way around ! please consult the reference book of Simone Sacconi " "the secrets of stradivarius" or make a trip to Cremona to see the the original moulds and tools of the old italians in the museum ! kind regards

  • Thanks for your comment. In fact in the inside view of the final thicknessing indeed the ff hole are not 100 % because there are not finished.. I put the final details to the "ff" once I have finally tuned the top to an F and scraped the inside. Like that I can tune the harmonics... regards. jeremie

  • The inside f hole could be better.

  • nevermind... got it, first movement of schubert's 8th.

  • @TheJmills39 yes sorry just got that, it is indeed, the" unfinished symphony" not a very good interpretation mind you. the best I think is by the berlin philarmonic under Karajan. Regards jeremie

  • ugh... I should know this, but what is the piece that is being played in this?

  • brillant photos and gives a great idear of the artistic process in making a violin. Impressive work...
