Sadly, thanks to the fail fail Stargate Universe, they have already mentioned that all future SG movies (including the next SG1 and the SGA movie) are put on hold indefinitely. Really quite a shame, as these movies have nothing to do with the failure that Stargate Universe was, and the story of Atlantis needs to be finished!!!
Ah well, at least this movie came out before this happened. An epic fight between Goauld, a way better enemy than the Ori ever were.
@iampotts02 i knowww the concept for the show was good the acting was good, the story lines were shit, but thats the prob when testing a new tv show, syfi should have ordered a half a season first to see how it would take on, then they could have made the adjustments, instead they ordered 2 seasons before the first episode aired. plus all of us stargate atlantis fans were pissed off from the cancellation so we gave a big FU to syfi by not watching a single episode of SU

@iampotts02 i dont know man thats how i felt, and many others. i felt like was kicked in the nut sack cause they canceled sga a show that i loved too, so they could air sgu. if they kept sga on the air along with sgu i prob would have given sgu more of a chance. i have see all of sgu shows since then in my opinion it did get better near the end of the second season, it could have done without all the bs relationship drama though.
@iampotts02 i dont understand what they did with the captain dude, half the time they make him a best hard nose military dude, then they make him soft not will to sacrifice anyone in the crew, they go back and forth. the lesbian shit was added for the sake of it. first season episode where civis rebel to take over the ship??? lol they fucken lost in the galaxy barley surviving and they want to be heard?? play some fucken green day for them as they cry to be heard.
@iampotts02 technically they did have the stones to contact earth too so civis were in control anyway. stupid episodes like that really irritated me. kind of reminds you of BSG, when Adama tryed to take control cause the president broke the agreement.
The Ark of Truth was ok but Continuum was brilliant!!! The storyline was interesting and visual effects were great. This based-on-TV show movie was as great as Babylon 5 and Farscape's films. All the actors/actresses did a wonderful job but Ben Browder, Claudia Black and Michael Shanks were just brilliant!!! I wish creators of TV shows Lexx, Earth: Final Conflict, SeaQuest and The 4400 made movies like this one

i have not seen Continuum yet, but I think it's about time travel and there's a lot of old characters.. it's definetely for SG-1 fans.. you should watch from S01E01 ^^
yes you absolutely need to see the SG-1 series before seeing the new movies.. the order is 1°) Stargate (old movie), 2°) the ten seasons of SG-1, 3°) ark of truth (which is extremly connected to seasons 9 and 10) , 4°) continuum
I agree, they totally should have made the sequel. A sequel was actually going to be made, and was going to be about the uprising and overthrow of Ra that they mentioned in the first movie. But the idea got abandoned. :( I read somewhere that Roland Emmerich used much of the story material from the abandoned Stargate sequel to make "10,000 BC". It sorta fits, if you think about it. Even the slavers voices in 10,000 BC sounded exactly like the Anubis guards from the original SG movie.
stargate universe is like another spin off show thats gonna debut as a two- or three-hour movie and then begin regular weekly shows. its set in a ship (destiny)
looks kinda boring, the series was getting drawn out and slow Atlantis is the same way either they are finding new technology or fighting monsters the story line is getting kinda dry and soap opera-ish

Tough one to pick. I think been a symbiote slave for eternity is worse. Far worse. Remember when Apophis's host woke up just before Apophis died (the first time that is)The guy was in anguish. He had been captured and embedded with a Goauld symbiot when he was a child and he had been host to Apophis for over a century. He woke up screaming for his mother yet he was an old man by then. That is cold. The wraithe kill u once but a Goauld has you for life, which can be over a century.

At the end of Season 9, a weapon designed by Merlin and made by the Merlin/Daniel hybrid was sent through the Stargate into the Ori galaxy. The purpose of this weapon was to destroy all ascended beings. Once that happened, the Ori-si took control of all the power the believers created. The Ark of Truth brought the "revelation" that the Ori were a lie to the people in the Ori galaxy, therefore removing the Ori-si's power and destroying the Ori forever.
obviously if u miss out on 10 seasons u wont understand it, point is, this was a last shot and a nice little thing that the sg1 crew did to let us remember the good old days

Goa'uld trivia 101 - They completely suppress the host and have total control over them. A big exception is that Skarra and a lady from the viking planet were able to influence the Goa'uld to make it do stuff, but this takes alot of strength and Ba'al's host had been his host for 1000s of years, he probably would have just given up fighting.
The Tok'ra on the other hand, even though they have the ability to completely suppress a host, share the body equally
right but you on most occasions heard ba'al talknig with a normal voice i thought goa'uld could not utilise that ability beucase if they let out the host even a little then it would be giving them more strength via freedom - so worser off in the long term?

So I sat down to watch Continuum last night, and.. well... it was pretty uninspiring. It felt like watching one of the more uneventful episodes of the series, hardly anything happens of significance at all.
Ark of truth wasn't that great, but it was actually worth watching and I enjoyed it. 3x better then this film in my opinion.
Maybe they had some budget left over from the series...

i think the ark of truth was a little better. u can see those desperate faces on mitchell, sam and daniel's faces when they're stranded on the alternate reality. also the combat actions were less exciting than the ark of truth. well maybe except for the part of the F-15s lol.
This is gotta be one of the best movies I've EVER seen, It's #2 on my list of favorite movies.. It was definitly well made, great job SG1 producers you win again!! It was everything good about sg1 wrapped into 1 movie!!
and maybe they could even make new good guys after the asgard, like the ferlings, they were not developed upon, and they are supposed to be one of the 4 major races in the galaxy...........

i personally think that the 2 part stories in the SG1 seasons were better than the ark of truth and continuum, because they developed the story properly in them, instead of just continuing the old story.
though i have watched continuum, and no dowt that it was a good movie but it could be better, for 1, they should make a new evil race, instead of using same bad guys, they should develop a new story about new bad guys, or maybe they could make a movie bout the wraith, (atlantis) going up against the goa'uld, and make SG1 decide which side they want to take, and a lot of space ship fighting etc (like in the orignal series), that would make a perfect movie.

Just watched it, cant i'm sat here in utter disapointment! the ark of truth was actually better, they have used this story line to many dam times! I absolutly love stargate (SG-1 and Atlantis). Anyhow did they sayd they were making 3 films?

i think the ark of truth was a little better. u can see those desperate faces on mitchell, sam and daniel's faces when they're stranded on the alternate reality. also the combat actions were less exciting than the ark of truth. well maybe except for the part of the F-15s lol.

This is gotta be one of the best movies I've EVER seen, It's #2 on my list of favorite movies.. It was definitly well made, great job SG1 producers you win again!! It was everything good about sg1 wrapped into 1 movie!!

Continuum was great! There is no doubt there is still a lot of life left in Stargate... Continuum is the best thing Stargate has done!

and maybe they could even make new good guys after the asgard, like the ferlings, they were not developed upon, and they are supposed to be one of the 4 major races in the galaxy...........

i totaly agree they we have not seen the ferlings once in the entire franchise (execpt "200") to be totaly honest i recon they should make another couple of seasons portraying the ferlings. and introduce a new enemy to fend off. ps. SHIP BATTLES RULE!!!!!.

i personally think that the 2 part stories in the SG1 seasons were better than the ark of truth and continuum, because they developed the story properly in them, instead of just continuing the old story.

though i have watched continuum, and no dowt that it was a good movie but it could be better, for 1, they should make a new evil race, instead of using same bad guys, they should develop a new story about new bad guys, or maybe they could make a movie bout the wraith, (atlantis) going up against the goa'uld, and make SG1 decide which side they want to take, and a lot of space ship fighting etc (like in the orignal series), that would make a perfect movie.

Yeah, the movie is now available at the "usual" places. I do advocate buying the DVD however--it shows support the writers/producers.
