Come on, the song Key is define by the cords played in a progression, per example, if you are playing Bm, F#5, E5, Cmaj, the key is G major, and you don´t even play the G, if you are coming back to a cord a lot, obviously it´s going to sound good, but That doesn't mean THAT CORD ITS THE KEY.
hi youre a great teacher but can u please reply your message telling me a solo you invented i mean write the chords down or something please because it kinda hard for me tnx
You are a great teacher and very important to beginning students. Is there an easy way to find chord changes? I know all about the 1-4-5 thing but it doesn't seem to help much. Only on easy country songs.
man like i just strated aplying guitar and im confused on what a key is can u like explaing it cus i wanna make sure that im rite on what i think it is
The chord the song wants to resolve on is a "G". 3rd fret of the E is the "G" note, which is where the scale could possibly start. Im still learning but thats what I picked up from it.
@deathmast403 Theres no "METAL SCALE" its all about how you play it you can play the Pentatonic scale in a metal song like metallica's kirk hammet and it will sound like metal, you can also try the minor and mayor scales
@deathmast403 doesnt matter which scale, it depends on how u play it....like in my guitar class everytime i start improvising it always sounds like a an 80's metal solo but the another kid in my class will play the same scale im playing and get a blues sound
hey guys i learnt the chords A Am F G E Em but i don't know that chord what's that chord which he plays on different positions on the neck which isn't the root chord G aka movable chords ??? or s.th. like that HELP PLEASE
Well, given the caption completely covering the video, I'll be going by ear (which after 16 yrs. of playing has become pretty reliable). The G chord he was playing was an E-shaped bar chord, and the other 2 were a C chord and D chord that are A-shaped. If you're taking lessons right now, you'll learn those relatively soon. Starting out, bar chords can be tricky, but they get easier with time. Just stick with it.
jazz goes through more complex progressions in more complex timings.....so if you have an ear for predicting where the song is taking you.....then it sounds awesome. But its a language that if you dont know, you cant follow. Jazz rules.
Dude, Thanks... i'm a begginer guitarist and i don't really know all those stuff yet, you helpd me alout.... so thx.... BTW, you should totally kick off that Joe Wayls (or what ever his name is...) he sucks hard!! i mean, his a good guitar player but his not very good at teaching guitar.
@nrc141 To be more specific .. if you play it out of rhythm, just say it's "jazzy syncopation' and if its wrong key, just claim it to be "jazzy dissonances" :)

How do I know it's a G scale?
Toca91 8 months ago
@Toca91
Its in the key of "G".

outofslumber 7 months ago
@Toca91
You know its a G scale (he didnt mention Gmaj or Gmin, but whatevar) because all the chords or notes that he plays are all in that G scale.
For example, in the little song he played in the vid, his chords were G, C and D.
And in a Gmaj scale, the notes are G A B C D E F# G.
See, there is a C note and a D note in there too.
Of course he didnt have enough chords to prove that this was right for many other scales have G C and D in it but i hope that this helps.
