Very nice. 6 stars. Excellent choice of chord voicings. VERY tasteful and "in the mood".
Well played. I am responding with a version I recorded and uploaded a few days ago. I improvised most of the chords. It never seems to come out the same way with me. I guess I need a more disciplined approach.
The guitar is an Ibanez AF86/VLS. I don't believe that this model is in production anymore but i picked it up in part because of the vintage finish. it looks awesome in the sun. glad you like it.
wow beautiful voicing on these chords. amazing chord melody arrangement, do you form your own chords mentally or is there a reference that you rely on in order to form inversions and such. you def have a huge chord vocabulary and that always impresses me most.
I use chords that I derive from the modes of the key center. this tune is in G so I would use the Dorian mode to build an Amin chord. I can use the 1,3,5,or 7th note in the Dorian scale (or whatever mode)as my bass note and as long as the other notes of the chord come from the same scale, it will work..I should make a video explaining this. you are always giving me great ideas and inspiration. i only did this tune after i watched your skillful version

Beautiful playing. I really want to learn this style. The theory seems so complex. You sound great :)

Really nice Erik! I can't get enough of hearing beautiful chords. Studying chord voicings and their inversions keeps me busy for hours. Thanks!

you and me both. Seems like as soon as I learn a new voicing, I forget an old one..so the struggle continues. thanks for listening

What kind of guitar is that? It has beautiful color, but it looks older.
