The problem with comparing Migs to NATO fighters is that they have mock dogfights where 1 Mig-21 fights 1 F-15.
In a 1 vs. 1 engagement, the F-15 will probably win.
The problem is in a real war there will be very few 1 on 1 fights. Most fights will be 3 on 3 or 6 on 6. In this kind of a confusing battle, some NATO fighters will go down...
Mig-21 is an interceptor not dogfighter because it has short and small delta wing. Back in the 50s the USA and Russian aways trying out do each other to see who can go faster, higher. All of that had been dominate by the USAF F-15 Eagle, well until the arrival of the Su-27. Most countries AF are force to dogfight using Mig-21 because that all they can afford, e.g Vietnam (excluding Su-27, Su-30 Mk2) , Serbia, Iraq, Egypt and much more to list.
The MIG-21 stands untill today as the most reliable, versatile and durable craft ever made, It´s able to operate fully in conditions that would render other craft useless, like lifting off with 20-30cm of ice on it´s wings. It was made to be able to withstand repairs by incompetent, often drunk mechanics, it´s high durability making it very versatile, able to land on any airport and with it´s low wingspan, it can even land on regular highways, no other plane can match the reliability of mig-21.
actually there is an Israeli upgraded version of the Mig 21 which is better than the bison. India wanted to upgrade theirs with Israeli help as well, but the Russians did not allow it for some reason
China like other non-democratic countries rely on sheer number, ie quantity is more important than quality. The lives of the pilots have only a secondary importance.
F 16 A Will be a better dog fighter than any Mig 21 variant. But the Bison and other upgraded ones have better avionics and jamming system and BVR capability with Helmet Mounted Site. Early Block f 16s lack all that
Would rather have upgraded Russian stuff with Israeli Avionics than made in china shit. Beware your pilots may die of toxic contamination if it has any Chinese plastics.

its a mig-21 customized by china as per pakistani specification. Pakistan had been traditionally flying american hardware and needed modification to integrate with their existing training.
the Mig-21 MF may be an interspetor and believe me its well adapted to it but is is a legend among dogfighting aircraft its designation is intercepter but its id a very well equipt for dog fighting.

In that time 90% of interceptors had delta wing from difference from dogfighter which had swept wing which is excelent for manuvering but delta wing is stable at high speeds and altitudes but not for maneuvering. Go on faking google a search for its specifications --> max speed, rate of climb, power of engine and all of these prove that mig 21 is truly interceptor. Missile dont make plane as interceptor or fighter.
@NaderH201 it's really immaterial they both dont do much as a dogfighter against other true dogfighters. the vietnamese for example used and loved mig-19 and mig-17 over mig-21 for the very reeason that they could doghfight with the lighter 17s and 19s than 21s

actually there is an Israeli upgraded version of the Mig 21 which is better than the bison. India wanted to upgrade theirs with Israeli help as well, but the Russians did not allow it for some reason
