@bigfmachine1 This particular railroad embankment, now owned by the Norfolk Southern, has been used as a wall to divide this part of Chicago for years. It even divides our police beat (935) in half. It serves the same purpose as the Berlin Wall did. And unlike the Berlin Wall, this one isn't getting torn down anytime soon.
I'm going to have to start editing Wikipedia;-) Nothing has ever happened in Fuller Park like what just happened in Bridgeport. Some Latin Kings at a funeral started fighting among themselves, and it spilled out into the street. The police were called, and several were injured in the ensuing melee. 11 gang members and their families were arrested and charged with assault. All this happened a block south of where the old Mayor Daley used to live.
Hey dont always complain your streets roads are much better than In Ireland and i see the price of your fuel is so cheap. Why was it so quiet driving around ,was it early in the morning.
@mientememami You're right. It is, or I wouldn't be living here. Think it isn't? Check the Police ICAM reports for 935E (Fuller Park) and 935W (across the tracks). In any neighborhood, it pays to have a working relationship with the police, and zero tolerance for gang activity of any kind.
"I want crime stopped, but don't arrest MY kid!"!? Not gonna work.
It's better than it was, and if more residents (especially parents) would get involved and identify the ones doing the shooting to the police, it could be better still. But that would be too much like right.
The cops finally caught Orlando Avila, the big, tough gang member who allegedly shot and killed the mother trick-or-treating with her kids in Back-of-the-Yards last Halloween; he goes in front of the judge Wednesday, April 16 at 26th and California.
How pretty and sunny (and smoggy and congested) it is depends on where one lives in the L.A. area. I've been there.
Oh, and did I mention we sit on one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world, and don't have to depend on a river 250 miles away for our drinking water?
No IT consultants, lawyers and stay-at-home moms here, ready to go ballistic if somebody changes the cornice on a two flat or if Wrigley Field adds a few more seats. People down here, of every skin color, are too busy trying to make a living, keep a roof over their heads and food on the table, and maybe find time to put a new coat of paint on the stairs. That's how the corrupt aldermen keep getting re-elected.
since when is the railroad tracks called the Berlin wall?

Man, I read that fuller park has the worst crime anywhere in chicago. See "Crime in Chicago" on Wikipedia.
And what car were you driving in that film? Sounds... unique.

I understand it is sunny.

Nah its true , when you can't see the sun rise someplace through the smog in the air you probably shouldn't live there.
