  • I remember when I used to sing this in school, and we'd all get up and dance around the chapel... thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories!

  • Would it be insulting if I did a metal cover of this beautiful song?

  • @WindsweptHQ I don't see why not.

  • Beautiful.

  • love it

  • you are very good.and i have a question.are you from BULGARIA???i mean ivan damianov

  • I love this song. It in No. 261 in the United Methodist Hymnal and has the chords included.

  • Really nice Tony, I enjoyed this greatly - Cheers Jim

  • This is a Shaker tune, definately not Quaker. The similarity betwen the two is in the rhyming of the names. Our Quaker people meet for quiet worship, traditionally did not sing in their meetings and surely didn't dance!

  • @oldtimeway1 Thank you for correcting my error. I will amend it

  • great

I would like to hear you sing OLD PENDLE. I think you have the right voice for it.

You have a beautiful "strong" voice!

  • @stomozan Thank you for your flattering comment. This has to be one of my all-time favourite songs.

  • This made my day - been sad for sometime.

Thank you for the song and the lyrics. Will memorise it.

  • @SheepsRocks Thank you for your kind comment

  • Lovley , Is Jesus Your Lord ? He is Mine .

  • This is one of my all time favourite songs. Thank you for making it one of yours as well.

  • An old favourite, brought a tear to my eye particularly the last verse. Sung with passion as ever. Simple yet powerful song. Great stuff

  • Thanks Deborah, this has always been one of my very favourite songs.

  • thank you. beautiful.

  • I love it! I'll have to go back and write it all down :D

  • thanks, this really helped me

  • Thank you, that is what I hope to do.

  • Thanks so much for this, nice of you to put lyrics and chords.

  • Remembering how I used to find difficulty in matching chord changes to lyrics as a young man led me to try to help others in this fashion. Thanks for your comment.

  • Amazing! We played a simpler version in my guitar class at school but it was nothing like this! o.o Very cool! ^_^

  • Yes, I used to play it as a three-chord bash until I found it in a song book published by Galliard Press where they showed the extra chords which give it so much more colour.

  • Outstanding!!

  • Thank you, I appreciate your kind comment.

  • Do you have a capo on? I tried to play along but it didn't sound right, lol. Great job, by the way =]

  • Yes, the capo is behind the 2nd fret so I am playing in A using G chord shapes.

  • I love this song, and this gentleman has an incredible voice!

  • Thank you, it is very kind of you to say so.

  • Good song five stars.

  • always loved this song, love to be able to play it but i am a beginner and find it hurts my fingers when holding down the strings how long will it take me to learn this as i have little patience with my learning. thanks

  • How long it takes to get your fingers calloused enough to negate the pain is up to you. How much pain can you stand? Even though it hurts to begin with, the more you practise the quicker the callouses will come. Once you have them, the pain will not be there to bother you any more and as long as you keep playing it will not return. It is up to you.

  • Thank you for this video!

I'm a 15 year old christian from lincolnshire.

And I attend a church there, and very soon I am going to be playing guitar for the worship at the start of every service, I think I'll make a point of learning this, It's a fantastic song! I can really picture my church singing along to it.

Thank you sir for this blessing.

    God bless you.

  • I am pleased to be of help. Perhaps you would like to check out a couple of my playlists, namely 'my own songs relating to religion' and 'Christmas songs and carols'.

    God bless you

  • nice job! thanks for this. i sang along

  • Good, and thank you for your kind comment

  • Great performance!

  • Thank you, I appreciate your kind comment.

  • A school days favourite, sounds a little macabre when you understand the meaning- ''Its hard to dance with the devil on your back'' and the crucification, literally...JJ.

  • Another one I remember from school! I quite like this one, it's a very lively, folky sounding hymn.
