@lilbsongwriter That was Michael, the dude is awesome in every aspect. He used the fuel from his staff to temporarily ignite his hands (trick I often use to light the second wick of my staff) from which he ignited his fire breathing. I think that was the only time that weekend he was able to pull the trick off, as it requires many different things to go right. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the vid :).

@andy5798 The original music, Three Days by Jane's Addiction on Ritual de lo Habitual, was removed for copyright infringement. It's sad and annoying, but meh, that's the way it goes sometimes. Three Days is still a great friggin song, so go find it and listen to it :).

i read a way around there copyright detection thing. You need to take the song you want to use into an audio editing app and slow it down by like 1-2% , not noticeable to our ears but their system reads the waveforms of songs , which by slowing it down alters it enough not to be read properly. eh its worth a try

Wow. Just when you think you are getting somewhere with poi, along comes a video that makes you realize you have a long way to go. Most everyone in that video was spinning in the "now". Pure fluidity as both dancer and poi act as one. I have yet to find that inner peace within the cage of flames; however, i will find it eventually because I have seen that it is possible. Thank you for filming this.

The fire breathing off the hands is phenomonal. Been fire breathing for years and never even thought of that one. Wow. Do you know if he has burnt his hands much trying that one? I want to see more of the fire wheel. Couldn't tell if he was using hands or a small stick.

Reminds me about a really amazing poi-trick I saw a few years ago in Visby, Sweden at the Medieval week. Was some guy there using 2 pois in each hand spinning one forward an one backward in each hand! First and so far the only time Ive seen someone do that.

That was the amazing Michael from FyreFlyte, a Bend, OR troupe. Yeah, that was a fuel transfer to breath. He had just developed the trick that week and had only had a successfull breath once before this night, so it was pretty exciting to see that happen (and to get it on vid!).
