I was in Lidice about 2 years ago. I have never forgotten the town, the people, or the story of utter brutality. The statue dedicated to the children was masterful.
@Dupedin2Madness go to hell nacist, you dont know anything about czech republic and about WWII, you agree with holocaust? You agree with killing ppl without reason in gas and shooting them? You are nacist! You die in hell! Heydrich was right hand of Hitler, their mind were same! Those like you are bad, who agree with massive killing of people is not normal! Go to hell and never get back! And just for information Czech republic is democratic state.
You can't believe, because you're too derelict between the ears, with an I.Q. half way a bag of rocks & a carrott, like the vermin now infesting the White House.
thoses men deserve the be call heroes , by there acts,.... they are the prouf that each man can make a difference in time of war , may they names NEVER BEEN FORGOTTEN for thousand years to come .
I had the privilege of visiting the Cathedral of Cyril & Methodius in Prague. The crypt now houses the history of what happened in show cases. Plus replicas of the gun and bomb used. Also 1 of the parachutist's uniform.
Rightly or wrongly I took some pics & posted them on Y.T.
But I'll never forget that visit, ( the bullet holes are still present)
Those courageous boys deserve to be remembered in such
Slovak state has been a Nazi ally at the time, so please STFU. Even Gabcik has been so dismayed by the Slovak collaboration that he claimed himself to be Czech.
I heard a different version of finding their hideout. It was not the Moravec youngest who told Germans where the assasins were. Again Curda, the betrayer, while walking through Prague came across Gabcik, who didnt know that Curda gave in to the Gestapo. Gabcik as others broke the rules and they were going out of the crypt on regular basis.
Gabcik was seeing his girlfriend and on the way he met Curda, whom he told they were hiding in a Prague church. Gestapo then searched the churches and again through a coincidence found the "terrorists". (professor Vanek`s version)

@NSResponder I doubt the world would be peaceful. We could go back in time and kill all dictators, before they get to power and the world will still be full of war and destruction. We are not some magical beings after all, we do have a darker side. All of us.So the world will always find a way to get some big war started.
@NSResponder Do you get your history from Hollywood? If it wasn't for Nazi Germany attacking USSR then the whole of Europe would be speaking Russian now, living under Communisty tyranny and if you were not of of the 10's millions that had disappeared to a gulag then you would be living in a damp ridden bedsit on half a loaf of bread and water every day.
@TheTruthMerchant I see you have a very active imagination there, Adolf. If Hitler hadn't attacked Stalin, then Europe would have remained under German and Russian domination.

I visited the church early in November too. Very moving. I was the only one in the crypt that afternoon.

Broad, I have been there, too. It is astoundingly moving. In all the SOE stuff I think that Noor Khan and Gabcik and Kubis were the most brave.

I have been there three times too. There is, where I find power for another fight against neonazism.

What a pity that Germany didn't execute Hitler after the beer hall putsch. They could have saved so many millions of lives.
