Racism can be disguised in politics if you watch and read enough propaganda... oh sorry, I meant "NEWS". But not just the news, it's done in Hollywood as well.

Just look at how Arabs and Muslims get treated in movies. Just look at recent news about unarmed Syrians protesting in the Golan Heights, and get shot at and killed by Israeli troops and the media makes the unarmed guys seem like the bad guy!

Also look up the under-reported Knoxville Massacre in Tenessee. That was racism!

I am very fond of this exquisite creature Ms. McKay but her condemnation of our nation as racist is misguided. Yes she is entitled to her opinion, but I doubt many of those who harp on this point--as though they were operating on some rarefied plane where they completely dissociated artist from persona-- would feel the same if she said something like Martin Luther King is way over-rated, or Jim Crow wasn't so bad. I don't want to say I've got the right to say something about the US, as I'm European, but I can tell from my experience in California how Europe and the States compare. And indeed, some things that happen over there on a daily basis are not possible anymore. I've seen black people getting thrown out of a shopping mall because some rich dude felt uncomfortable in their presence.

I know that some think like that, too, in Europe, but they'll almost always be arrested later.
