Near hit bird strike on an ILS approach into Jackson MS

Near plane strike for the bird ha... I have had close calls with these critters as well... seems it always happens on final lol!

before i got my ticket, my instructor and i took out a bird on the right wing in a tomahawk while downwind doing touch and goes. it literally exploded on impact and nudged the plane about 3-5 degrees to the right. the skin on the wing had to be replaced. tense moment for a second, but the plane flew and landed like nothing happened. thanks piper!

to clear my conscience, i bought a bird feeder that weekend :)

WOW! That was pretty close. When I was flyin in east Texas there were always buzzards on the departure end of 35 over a cow pasture. They were always circling so they were easy to "see and avoid".

Looks like a decent sized bird too! Lucky there were a few spots you could put her down in the event of an engine failure. Keep them coming, love it!
