like I said its wierd how that Noah was born all white and had sunbeem eyes. In my dreem I get to be noah and how this movie came out during the sixties when I was born then again its pretty weird to stand up and say a prayer to God the moment your born then again it was the sixties
I was seven when this movie came out. I wasn't allowed to go see it. My sister did.The picture of these kids in the newspaper scared me to death-almost. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I watched this movie on television. I realized this version, unlike the one in 1960, (which I liked better in terms of fright), was kind of "cum-by-ya". It had a message that we, from different areas of the world, should try to get along. Grown-ups KILL each other, not children. So GROWN -UPS we kill you.
@supergirlbb Has she seen the version with Christopher Reeve? If so, how did she like it? I haven't seen it, but I saw the children, and they look more like the "Village of the Damned" kids, then "The Children of the Damned"kids. Christopher made the movie just before his accident on the horse.
I seriously hope this film is never remade, in ten or eighty billion years its predecessor had a bloody terrible remake which should never have been made in 10 billion years. The remake of the previous film was diabolical, and it was very violent and I would not watch it again in billions of years. I think if Children Of The Damned, was ever remade it would more than likely be a right disaster like the remake of the previous film was, I would not bother remaking this film. It would not work well
The 1963 sequal called Children of the Damned is bloody excellent , I have got the dvd of it I am surprised in some respects why none of the surviving characters from the previus film did not reappear or get a mention in this sequal. It would have been nice to have seen the widow of Gordon Zellaby back to, explain to the characters in this film about her husband committing suicide with the previous colony of children. There are no references to the first film, which is a shame in every way.
@balrog13571 I like what you said about a brick wall, this film Children of the Damned which is ten billion or two hundred billion times better than its predecssor Vllage of the Damned. I seriously hope that this film is never remade like its predecessor, sadly and foolishly was sixteen years ago. The remake of this films predecessor was a load of crap and total tosh, it was not worth the time and money. I would stress please do not remake Children of the Damned, leave it well alone please.
I don't know, I personally liked the original far more than this one, but that's just me. This is still good, but it's kind of slow at certain points and didn't really have as much of that uneasy feeling from the original. But while I've never seen the remake I figure both this and it's predecessor are FAR better. It looks like remakes of The Haunting and House on Haunted Hill. None of that suspense and mystery.
@balrog13571 I would like your view on what you would think if this film was ever remade, in colour and do you yourself thin it would be worth the time and money to remake Children of the Damned or what? I like the scene in Children of the Damned where the I ndian boy Rasheeds mother flees from the kitchen and the saucepan on the cooker catches fire and Rasheed stares at the flames.I would think these children must now all be into their forties or fifties, they all seem to have disappeared.
Well knowing Hollywood, that'd either mean remaking Village again and then making a sequel, or releasing a straight to DVD sequel to the the remake if they had any intention of making it. I don't think it would be remade or at least not for some time to come, and if it did I doubt it'd be worthwhile, but who knows? I think these movies look better in B&W, but with the right direction, screenplay, and acting anything is possible. I doubt it'd get much attention though.
@balrog13571 I have always found the remake of Village utter and total tosh, I woud say myself leave Children the sequel film well alone don't fix what is not broken. I can imagine if COTD, was ever remade it would very likely be a disaster like the remake of VOTD or even worse the the previous films remake. I would touch wood and hope Children of the Damned is, never remade and left well alone. I was once in favour, of COTD been remade ten years ago, now I say don't go there leave COTD as it is
@balrog13571 Do you agree with me that COTD would be best not remade,? I would leave well alon and try to make new films instead which will do more good than remaking old films like COTD and VOTD.
@balrog13571 Thank you for your feedback, and support on my opinion of do not remake Children of the Damned. I could not imagine a remake of Children of the Damned been any better than thr ghastly remake of Village of the Damned. It was nice in COTD, to see the children wiped out by the bomb, the Army placed in the church. It was achange from having one of the scientists Tom Lewellin or David Neville making the bomb and blowing themselves up with the children like in VOTD.
@angharadalice I am curious as to what you have said about the man who plays Paul, is your dad to who you are?. I think Clive Powell is excellent as Paul in Children of the Damned, in billions of ways I much prefer this film to its predecessor Village of the Damned. I don't think any film company ought to remake Children of the Damned in ten billion or even six hundred billlion years. The previous, film was remade it, was a bloody disaster and not at all worth being remade. It was a disaster.
What about Jose from Mexico? :) The white children from the first movie looked cooler with their blonde/white hair, I think this movie was influenced by political correctness and went multicultural, they do not so look scary now.
No Paul is not from the film 'Tommy'. The actor's name is Clive Powell and the one from 'Tommy' is called Barry Winch. Also, 'Tommy' was made in 1975 and this film was made in 1963 so he would have had to go backwards in age. Although, I do think 'Paul' was in 'Village of the Damned' three years earlier as the young David (the one in the playpen who solves the puzzle). He does look like him and does look about three years younger but he is not credited so I don't know for certain.
@barneychops I think Children of the Damned for me was ten billion times, more frightening than Village of the Damned. I am profoundly glad no film, company has been so far stupid enough to remake this film like what happened with the previous film. The remake of Village of the Damned was utter crap and, also the remake was not worth it in twenty billion years.I seriously hope, that Children of the Damned is never remade I can't imagine a remake of Children of the Damned being at all good .
Shows wht may happen when we come "eye to eye" with our evolutionary replacements, on this Earth, scince evolution is an ever ongoing process, from protozoa to Homo-Sapiens, to Homo-Super. We are Homo-Sapiens. We are about to be replaced, starting around 2012, by the HYBRID-children. UFOs are central to the novel THE MIDWICH CUCKOOS, on which all 3 films are based.
Unlike the first movie, "Children of the Damned" had more of a international flavor with an alien child from England, West Germany, Russia, Nigeria and China!
@1210donna This film beats its predecessor in many ways, and it would be better all round if it was not ever remade like its predecsssor stupidly was. I do not see the point of remaking old films, like this it is not wise or smart. I have no control over a filmmaker, deciding if they wanted to remake this film in colour doing so but I say leave well alone and do not go there at all. The remake of the previous film ,is total and utter crap and not worth the time and money that was spent on it .
@1210donna very unlikely since this movie was made before the Implementation of heavy metals (Fluoride) to our water supply and later Mercury in our vaccines. These children would be evidence of Project MK-ULTRA at best! (but that's just my 2 cents) lol.
