but i had forgotten about the part in the middle. so i was thinking they were referencing the beginning of achilles last stand the whole time.

@LeguanMo You're the first person I've seen notice that. It's that E minor progression. Robert also mimics it, when he sings "For the mighty arms of Atlas hold the heavens from the Earth." Isn't it so beautiful?

This is sublime. This is why I like Zep. This perfomance is so out there and freaky. This wasn't commercial music...it was all about feeling and groove. Much less the freakin' bow solo is just so crazy...yeah, it was pretentious but it was suppose to be...it's just pure white noise at one point......pretty freakin' avant-garde too me.....Love it.

The san francisco section they integrated into Dazed and Confused from '73 (seen on TSRTS concert and various bootlegs from that year) to '75 eventually took on a life as its own in the form of Achilles Last Stand.

@LesPaulZoso94 It's actually "Woodstock" by Joni Mitchell (CSNY did a cover of it). She wrote it after she couldnt perform at Woodstock in '69. But for some reason LZ used it in "Dazed and Confused" from 1973-1975. Hope that helped!

@69travelerkn It was initially "Going to San Francisco", the one played by Scott McKenzie (?) which is seen on TSRTS from 1973. I didn't know the vocals in this was Woodstock by Joni Mitchell, but the riff and drum/bass fills are still the same from 73, Plants just covering different lyrics.

Led Zeppelin is the Hammer Of The Gods. And I don't care about what people say when they say they were sloppy live, Led Zeppelin live is one of the reasons why they got big. But I love Zeppelin with all my heart and they will never die. And the mysticism of the four members bring the greatest band to ever walk the earth.
