No offense, I really love Simon and Garfunkel, but this song just isn't as good as it should be live. Though thats not due to them, it's just not a song that should be played live.
I prefer Bridge Over Troubled Water or Sound of Silence. They really nail that ones live!
its true that simon and garfunkel did look to the beatles for koo koo kachoo, but their not the only ones. every artist that started anytime after 1963 was influenced by the beatles. and not only rock and roll. country, rap , and everything comes from the beatles. except maybe techno -.-
@Hotchilipepprz4 I think Dylan did more influencing of the beatles than being influenced by them, but they were a superbly creative force that stomped on the terra firma.
the Indigo Girls are a more recent duo that does the kind of wonderful vocals and meaningful lyrics that Simon and Garfunkel beacme famous for. I would LOVE to see Amy and Emily team up with Paul and Art sometime, i think it would be a GREAT combination.
I really love all of Simon and Garfunkel's live versions of all of their songs. In some ways, they're better than the studio recordings. This would be the generation I would've chosen to grow up in instead of my own because this music is so timeless. I have some songs that I sometimes don't think would be accepted in this generation. I don't know what to think.
I still love good stuff like this. Maybe if one person could become famous, strike gold in the charts and play this kind of music. People would listen to it again!! yay!
I'm a 20 year old music composition major who has songs he's written that are almost never heard whose trying to come forward. Mine are a mix of Simon and Garfunkel and other groups.
I like the use of harmonizing at the beginning of the song in this version. While it's different and I prefer the original, it's nice to hear some second voice.
