@beautifultrainwyreck...Absolutely. David, Eddie, Paul, all were taken from us too soon. They all had demons they could not overcome. What fantastic performers they all were.
@downchick105 downchick105 he actually said "push in your way" (1:50 min) I think there's a subtle difference. It's not "pushing her away" but putting up a slight resistance to going in the direction she's pushing in, he also said those arms she has around him will let him go some day, so he's leaving now while she still cares about him (really sad to listen to, but I can't stop)
@downchick105 YES we do, it,s complicated, and there are so many different contexts from which I can speak. We love hard, (or maybe stupidly) and most of us are not emotionally equip to deal with our pain or the thought of causing you pain when our feelings are not as strong as yours. We will often walk away from someone if we think we can't give what we think they want or deserve.
This response can go in so many different directions, but suffice it to say I have done it numerous times.
Mahalo's Mr. Ruffin for your wonderful voice, full of feeling and emotion, you touched my heart and millions of others....I hope and Pray you found Peace...God Bless you.
It's 1979 my senior year in high school....I'm on the bus to school listening to this tune on the stereo our bus driver installed on the school bus....High School days..We were so innocent an naive then. Wonderful memories.
I love this man. UnSung I cant wait until you show his show next year. David was the Temptations. This man had an awesome voice. It was so unfortunate what happen to him.
@Plutoisaplanet1 But Adele is not an Rn B singer...She has a great pop voice. And from the performances I've seen - she is very laid back. Not quite the stage presence and commanding personna of David Ruffin...
@sloansv In that case go look up Musiq - Love, or Jazmine Sullivan - Lions, Tigers, and Bears. Old music is my passion actually, but there's still some really good singers today.
Man has almost surreal control of his vocals. Its a shame that this type of talent is now almost extinct, although I must admit it was rare even in his day. RIP David.
@1stbase3 The sad part about it is that no one would want to listen to him because he really can sing. He wouldn't be using autotune or have a bunch of half naked dancers with him
We all have our demons, but David Ruffing was special and the devil just happened to allow him to destroy his life. All of that talent. And talent he had. I love his voice and his confidence.
I had the pleasure of meeting him David one on one at a club in Detroit and he was very down to earth. There will never be another. God, please let David sing another song.

@Bostongrl6 Tammi died of a brain tumor if David R uffin had in any way caused her death he would have been sent to jail, and when she died they weren't even together they had split long before then. Also that movie was made by people who didn't know David Ruffin and was also viewed by people who didn't know him, if you don't know your history you are lost an belive anything you see, once again David Ruffin died at a hospital he wasn't thrown out on the streets,

I've always loved this song since I was a child I'm glad I was born during a time when you listen to words and not just the beat. Thanks
