a friend of mine is diabetic, she had an open infection on her foot. It wasent much more than an inch long. tried antibiotics for years. I had seen the special on maggot therapy and told her about it. I don't know if she told her doctor about it, or if she did the doctor didn't take her seriously. Her foot was amputated. she now struggles with everday life. every time she falls she needs help to get up. Doctors are trained to think inside the box. Thank you for sharing.
thank you Pam for sharing your story, it's always good to know what alternatives are available especially from a patients perspective, and i'm very happy that it worked out well for you too.
I have a friend who told me once that she will never undergo maggot therapy come what may. Neither will she recommend it to her friends but when her husband was diagnosed with diabetes and was in danger of losing his left leg due to an infected wound. She frantically end up looking for a doctor who would do the maggot's way. LOL.. The results amazed her and her husband. After many months of antibiotics, the maggots helped a lot in closing up the wound. Thanks to the maggots! lol
Thank you! You have helped to spread the healing that maggot therapy provides. Being a diabetic, I wouldn't hesitate to use this type of therapy should the need arise! Thank you once again!

There is also a white rapper in the UK who goes by the name Maggot. They are becoming very popular little critters.
