  • I´m trying to reconditioning a 9v battery whith a circuit called joule thief that puts in the battery sharp spikes of higth voltage like bedini´s machine.

I have a cuestion, how many time have you left the battery in the bedini motor for reconditioning? a few days? hours?

  • how is the size of the capacitor? and at what voltage it charges?

  • Does the iPhone batt have 4 power terminals like most cell phone batts have? I've got a bedini SSG and I want to charge my cell phone batt, but I don't know to which terminals I should hook it up....

  • I have opened a few different versions of Ipods and they all seem to have the same kind of lithium ion polymer batteries. That is, they all have only two main terminals, however, these terminals are connected to a small circuit. This circuit also has two terminals coming out of it. I just always avoid the small circuit all together and go for the two main terminals coming out of the battery.

  • As to the cell phone, yes, mine has 4 terminals as well, although I got the battery down to its two main terminals, just keep digging! You can peel it back and you'll find those 2 main terminals. Sadly, I can't get my cell phone battery to behave as well as Ipod batteries on this machine. I also had trouble with my laptop batteries as well. Good Luck!

  • Nice San Tropez. I love the album Meddle. Good Choice

  • where can i find the schematics and theory of this battery regenerator. Does it have to be a moving machine? isnt there a way to do it all electronically? what is really happening with the current in the battery? is it being hit with peaks of current? or what really happens in order to regen a battey?

  • You can find these schematics at John Bedini's page (Google him) or any other dedicated page of this machine. It would also be wise to look up Tom Bearden. He has essentially the same concept with a non-moving apparatus. What is happening in this procedure is that the plates inside the battery are being jolted with voltage, not so much current, which chips off oxidation between the plates, causing higher rates of storage within the battery. Or so the theory dictates.

  • It's a Bedini SSG. The battery is being pulsed with high voltage with almost no current. I think in this case the big olive colored capacitor charges a bit and then discharges into the battery. This all can be done solid state of course.

  • Does your bedini drain the primary battery?

  • Yes, eventually, after testing everyday for nearly two months the battery started to lose its power. I previously used a reed switch instead of the transistor to switch the coil, the battery drained in less than a week.

  • You're a mad scientist! It does seem like a lot of trouble to go through and I have no idea what all that stuff you are using is or does, but it is nice to see that someone still works on electronic stuff. When I was a kid, electronics was a popular hobby. Radio Shack stores actually sold electronic components to build things with, not just phones and games.

  • omg, what a nerd

  • here is a very serious question!!! how low of a voltage could you design a bedini motor/charger to run at? I ask this as you can get .6 to .8 volts from trees! look up magcap. you might have to use a magnetic switch at such low voltages as I doubt that transisters would switch.

  • how the fuck does any 1 find out how to do this shit? looks complicated at first glance.

  • dude... if u were going through all that trouble... juss buy a new ipod...

  • well, this way I won't have to. plus, I've been reconditioning my friend's ipods and digital cameras as well, so they don't have to either. So far it has saved a great amount of money that would've been spent on new mp3 players and other units.

  • Sow-dered? Soul-dered.

  • lol no its soldered

  • Have you tries this with other Lithium chemistries (ie. Li-poly, Li-Fe, Li-Mn, or A123)? Could a balancer be used in the process for 2 - 12s packs? Can you confirm the increase in capacity by using a CC/CV charger? How long does this process take, does it depend on the capacity or the crystallization on the plates? This is really impressive, seeing as that you can recondition lithium cells like you can NiCd with Reverse Pulse or Reflex.

  • Nice bit of floyd in the background, funny, the amount and size of the equipment to recharge such a small thing.

  • What about the lifespan of the battery, how do you know it doesn't decrease it by forcing the increase in the charge. Could you write a how-to, or go any brief manual? Do you have a way to control the cycles, maybe you reduced the cycles of the lifespan to half, so then you are ruining the lifespan of the battery to half. I simply wish to know if it can really be done, I'm from Argentina, and things are really expensive here! Thanks! Good luck! You are great!

  • The lifespan of the batteries to which I've done this procedure have lasted far beyond their life expectancy, yet it has only been a few months for this particular one, and its been over a year for the digital camera NiCd battery, so as far as I can tell nothing has changed in the way of long-term lifespan. As far as a manual, you can find everything you need on John Bedini's page or any other affiliated page.

  • Their is a way to adjust the cycles, but as you can see this is a machine that was built on a budget, so adjustments would have to be made. This also proves that a Bedini energizer can be built with practically no cost, as long as the circuitry is correct. Thank you for you intelligent questions and your interest.

  • How do you make a reconditionner for NiCad batteries?

  • how did you no that 3.7 is fully charged?

  • 3.7 volts is actually written on the battery itself, I have been able to get it slightly higher, but I only use the meter's reading to justify that the battery is completely reconditioned. The machine doesn't charge the battery as much as it reconditions it, but when the battery is charged normally on its own charger (Ipod charger, digital camera charger, ect.), the results can be seen in its exceedingly long lifespan

  • Don't mind them dude. That's brilliant :D

Do you use something to power it, or does it have some kind of generator, or just static electricity from the disk?

  • Thank you so much. The machine is powered by a 6 volt alkaline battery, that of which won't go dead for many months, even with everyday use of the machine. It takes very little energy to run this machine, but it gives so much to the batteries that its reconditioning.

  • I never knew that building a practically self-sufficient machine that reconditions batteries to be 2 to 3 times more efficient could be so offensive.

  • u know it

  • i know what? you are pendejo ese

  • Techno Dork.

  • Man I want to do that.

To bad I don't have one of those machines.

Argh I wish I had a longer battery life.

  • Fearless to be exact suck a good song i love older Floyd.

  • thats meddle man thats awsome your my hero.

  • yeah, great album

  • your listening to meddle?

  • can u do that on a 30 gig

  • can u do this with a 30 gig video?

  • Absolutely, any small portable device that contains a 3.7 volt Lithium ion battery, or even a 3.7 volt NiCd battery will work. I've done this procedure to a digital camera battery as well, and it too has exceeded its battery life by 3 times the normal expectancy. Regardless of the size of an Ipod's hard drive, or any other different accessory it may have, as long as it has that 3.7 volt Li-ion battery, it can be done.

  • o ok that seem really easy

  • nerd

  • lol....is that black round thing a vinyl 33 LP?..ha,ha,ha!...who's the artist?

  • lol futurama in the backround

  • Are you driving this with 12 V?

I have built my 3rd SSG, and I am looking to find out the best way to bring back batteries.

    Do you use a Capacitor?

    Thanks

  • BORING

  • Hmmm Yes, I go build one myself now,

Oh problem, What do I need, and where do the wires go ???

Clever and handy, but only if you have knowledge, useless info to the novice tho? But before someone comments the vid is for tho's who are into electronics I already know. but still.

  • umm....cool but how do u charge a normal ipod u no the old 1?

  • If your talking about the first of the Ipod series, generation 1,2,3,4, mini, nano, ect. It all works the same because they are all powered by a Lithium-Ion polymer battery. And remember this isn't charging them, it's reconditioning them, so they have far longer lifespans than what you can buy retail.

  • Apparently, you're supposed to use an onion................. some people...

  • hi can this re con milwaukee 18v li ion and ni cad .if so could you email me the full list to make one as i am a carpenter with all cordless tools and this would keep my costs of battery supplies down ..(not very electronically minded) so step by step build appreciated thank you

  • Schematics for this machine can be found at rexresearch dot com/bedini/bedini.htm , patent no. 6,545,444 and a myriad of other sites for the Bedini SG generator. I have no doubt that it would recon. your power tool batteries, it will just have to be beefed up to support that kind of power. The circuit is quite simple, but the theory takes a while to understand. Thanks for your interest and good luck.

  • awsome intervention!!!!!!!!
