it's not meant to be particularly pleasant to listen to. to me, it's extremely fresh. very fucking angry, and unbelievably complex/competent too. the fact that they've made the jump to four-piece so easily is admirable. bring on 'queenie was a blonde'. oh, and amazing video!

Yeah, noise is great, and the guitar and the frantic cymbals are great. It's probably just a little unstructured for some people.

For me it goes downhill at 1:00, where the guitar changes sound completely. And then goes back uphill again from 1:30 onwards. :)

Yes it is ignorant. Saying something isn't music is incredibly ignorant. And yes, any sound can be considered music. Thats what all the great avant-garde composers tried to prove. John Cage for example with 4:33. By creating silence he was trying to amplify the sounds we normally wouldn't pay attention to, and take for granted, and that is the music.

In short, yes, you are ignorant.

I find this song random (in a bad way) and very irritating to listen to. Its noise and I don't like it, that doesn't mean I'm ignorant it means i have an opinion and felt the need to speak it. Yes I know noises can be used in music, I'm definately all for experimentation but there is making good and bad use of them. If you think I'm stupid for not liking this thing, then I'm really not the ignorant one here.

I don't think you're stupid for not liking this thing, I think you're ignorant and arrogant that you are dictating what is and isn't music. There's a whole genre called noise music/noise rock. Sure, these guys aren't the best example of that, but listen to a band like Wolf Eyes or Boredoms and you'll see that it is actually a really effective style of music.

think you're overreacting a little, alice? i like this band but this was uncomfortable to watch/listen to. there's no dynamics in the song so the single camera shot works, so does the black and white bits, the hard-to-distinguish parts (it's also hard to distinguish the vocals which is why it works) and the shaking of the frames. a lot of blunt, note-wiggling. not really my thing but good vid!

its just this "song" that i mainly dont like, its terrible to bare listening to, ive nothing against the guys themselves or their fans but this is awful. I wouldnt even call it music, the song is just complete random iritating noises without a proper structure. Also my username alice is just a random screen name lol, but yeah the only that works in this is the way the video is done.

Well, different types do different things. But myself im into quite a mixture: metal/rock to an extent/filmscore/gamescore/som­e classical/some blues/jazz, melodic metals probably my favourite but whatever sounds good.

Yeah for every genre there are sub genres, then sub-sub genres etc. Hmm some random bands i like would be Children of bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Helloween, Graveworm, Dragonlord, Necrophagist, Nevermore, Nightwish, Sepultura. Sludge can be pretty cool.
