its cause the white assholes that you would have to say this........ The ones that still exist is what i mean...... Im half white and half cherokee indian ,anyways i LOVE KEN BOOTHE
@Lawrentz82 cosign to that... syl broght more soul to the song... ken made it a bit funky with the guitar in the back... i love the beginning of kens version with the horns...
my sons have beautiful black skin , and they r the most fantastic looking lads a mother could wish for i love them so so so so much..... and the song well classic,!! WHAT A SONG.
It's not because of the skin but the seeds of self hate that has been sown from the vicious days of slavery. Because one is black does not stop one from being a force to reckon with. The lyrics could have gone a step further... The ghetto reflects the self hate scenario in many ways. There are forces both black and white that use all kind of means to deny Africans all over the globe of our rightful place as humans. But remember black is always beautiful like any other color that JAH created.
Excellent song, excellent lyrics, excellent vocals. Mr. Boothe your are a classic artist!!!!!

This is so soulful. Heard for the first time courtesy of mandingo on riddim radio on saturday stuck in traffic. Superb.
He followed it with another killer tune by Everton Blender but this blew me away.

Good beat though... but the lyrics didn't help the cause of being strong, black and beautiful.
