You and hercrabbiness really works well together and King's Quest VI is one of my favourite LPs. (Puns <3) At the same time hercrabbiness and Resulka made a great LP with Phantasmogoria.
Also it was a bit awkward to have a full LP with two people and then suddenly one more joins for the last part.
Still, a great LP of a great game which I never finished, so thanks for showing me ;)
I don't mind the extra people, but when it made you start missing dialog after doing such a good job earlier. Just the inconsistency was the most noticeable. But it's probably not my place to criticize what is done on your videos. Have fun :-)
I love your Lets Play. I think they're great and watched them over and over, I don't mind HC after I got used to more than one person being in the video. I think it's pretty entertaining. With three, it seems too crowded and distracting to the point where the game drags along.
I've never did a LP with Resulka, but it just gets too distracting and it draws the attention from everyone else. That's just my point. You totally look different than I expected, btw.
It's a general rule of thumb that unless a game has more than one playable character, the LP shouldn't exceed more than 2 commentators. But even then, I still think that your best work was done when you were doing these solo. No offense to Hercrabbiness, your videos were still watchable after she came along. However, I couldn't finish your Longbow LP.
I love Resulka! In fact you, Hercrabbiness, and Resulka are my favorite game reviewers of these marvelous old games. Thank you all for these and please never stop!

Her style doesn't bother me, but I can see how simply having three or more people can get kinda crowded. I watched an LP that had like 5 people going at once. It was a nightmare, and it seemed that the LPer forgot to address his audience.
I thought you making this video is commendable. I personally didnt mind the Resulka on your videos but as you said everyone has their own opinion. As for the lets play being long well from my point of view thats what they are supposed to be. There is a difference between a Lets Play and a walkthrough. If you want to see it done quick then play it yourself and get a walkthrough. Lets plays are fun and thank you Lateblt and hercrabbiness and other LetsPlayers for making them fun :).

If there were 5 people subscribing to these videos, it would be hard to get everyone to agree on what is or is not good on each particular video. With nearly 1500, it's literally impossible. I hope that lateblt and any associated lpers continue to make the videos THEY want to make, that's what the mast majority of people will enjoy anyway.
Wow, you look more good looking than I expected, I expected you to look older cause your voice is so deep and mature sounding. I actually loved that Resulka appeared, I didn't have the time to comment on it or really read the comment so I was surprised by the fact that people found it not good. I guess cause she was the Let's Player I saw first and stuff though. Don't apologize cause it's not really anybody's place to say what you do with your LPs.
I normally don't read YouTube comments since the average internet user's vocabulary seems unable to extend beyond "dis games gai lolz", so I'm surprised to hear people complained about how adding a third player to the third-to-last video of Conquests of the Longbow slowed the LP's progress down too much. You might have made this explantory video significantly shorter by telling them that they're watching a 100% completion run of a Sierra adventure and not a speedrun of Super Marioland. :-p

I agree with what you say about the purpose of an LP, above all, is to have fun. Sure, people are entitled to not like what you do if they so choose, but it's YOUR LP. Constructive criticism is a nice thing to have, but if you're not enjoying yourself, there's no point.
Hah, it is all nice, but I really do not mind however you do it, or how you do it, have your fun doing it that is far more important, and on this end, as far as I am concerned, if I do not like it, I can always go read a simple walkthrough and play the game myself. I actually liked it, reminds me of the times when I was younger, and we huddled together playing a game, just being goofy. Thanks for the Let's Play, twas one of those games I always wanted to play but never got the chance.
As a regular follower of these I guess I'll leave my quick opinion. Frankly I too found it a bit annoying when Resulka came in goofying during COTL. She fits great in some funnier stuff such as LSL though. Great chick.
The best part of LPs, for me, are the personalities of the players and the way you guys all interact with the game. I thought Resulka's guest appearance was a great touch and that the way people were complaining about her "slowing the game down" was just idiotic. If they want something to just show the game being played, there are plenty of playthroughs on Youtube for them. The commentators make the LPs unique.

I am really surprised to see this video. The whole thing was definitely silly and corny, that's why it was so amusing. I'm not sure why, but this video actually has reminded me of a question I've had for some time. How long does it take you to actually record the LPs? I'm sure it varies, but what I mean is you must record multiple videos in a sitting. I'm sure you don't just play for 10 minutes and then turn the game off for a few days. So how long are episodes usually in the can before they are uploaded to YouTube?
@SuperNinja147 It depends. Sometimes I really do make the videos one at a time, playing the game only when I'm actually ready to upload. Other times, I'll make a few videos (usually just around 3 to 5) at a time. In this case, we did all the videos with Resulka in one session, because of scheduling concerns. When I think I won't have the time to record in the near future and I have a chance to do so now, I'll record several videos at once, otherwise, it's record-as-the-time-comes.
Don't let the haters get you down. I actually ran into your videos because I had watched a speedrun of Quest for Glory and wanted to see more gameplay. Also, I'm really surprised (but not offended) to hear you swear, moreso than seeing your face.

Honestly, you guys don't have to do this at all. Let's Plays are supposed to be fun, and I can appreciate you guys putting these videos of old Sierra games online, as it reminds me of my childhood and the nostalgia that comes with watching your videos. I love all three of you guys (LB,HC,Resulka) and each of you have your own personalities, which adds diversity to the comments and critiques of games. If ppl want to watch "faster" games, refrain from watching a LP. Keep up the good work guys!

@doomayam Actually, there was a moment (albeit over a year ago I think) when we could see hercrabbiness, as she has posted a video showing herself to her LP audience. IIRC she did that to apologize to her viewers that she'll have to take a break from doing regular LPs because of school or such problems (correct me if I'm wrong HC ;) ). But, as you all probably know, this clip has been subsequently removed by HC for reasons unknown. Oh well. Anyway, she looked pretty foxy then xD Love you guys ;)
@younghifi I made one video that showed my face, but it was well before I started LPing. There were a number of reasons I took it down, but generally speaking, I don't want to show what I look like to my viewers because I believe that it's irrelevant and distracting. I think it's cool when other LPers show their face on YouTube, but having so many people pay attention to my appearance would really bother me...

Wow, I'm really surprised. I love Resulka. Out of all the let's plays I've watched, my favourites are the LB & HC combo vids. HC is sharp and funny, LB narrates with charm and dry wit. When Resulka joined in this LP, I laughed and smiled... what's not to love?

3 people may slow down a LP, but for Sierra adventures, that's ok. If you rush through any of those, you obviously don't know what the point of them is. For me, the fair was the only part of CotL that was kind of too slow. It seemed to drag on forever.

@NRGFORCE I don't think Resulka really cared too much or got her feelings hurt, but I felt like the situation still warranted a response. It's true that she changed the dynamic of the videos considerably, but it was just for a few videos, so I didn't think it would be a big deal.

Personally I've always enjoyed your LP's because you present the games in a very story-like fashion. You narrate every line of dialog, do funny voice acting, make observations people like me would miss and add in the occasional joke or funny comment. It feels like you really "respect" the games that you play, so to speak (including games that I normally wouldn't be interested in). This, to me, makes every video you put up fun to watch! Furthermore...
Umm... Why were people complaining? Because in your videos, which YOU create, you decided to include another guest? It's not their choice whether of not to include someone else, and IMHO, she's not an intrusion at all.
Haven't seen the videos in question, but since giving informed opinions is not in the spirit of the Internet anyway I'm just going to agree with the general approach only hinted at during the beginning of the video; this is your channel, you decide what's on it and if people don't like it they can just type in another URL.

As I commented on the CotL video, you do whatever you like to enjoy makeing these videos, this means that we hopefully get more of them. Also, you're one of two Let's Players that I have found who makes videos that would normally not interest me worth watching due to the commentary. So keep doing what you do.

Thank you, LateBlt! Let's Plays ARE supposed to be fun! If people want straight-laced walkthroughs, those are also featured on YouTube or Speed Run websites. The keyword is "Let's", as in more than one. Having guests comment with you is merely taking that aspect into effect literally. I support the idea of guests, and your guests have always come out complimenting you and vice versa. The idea is to have fun and enjoy the game. And that's what you do. Keep it up, you're always a fave.

I think the problem may just come from changing the format so far into the already existing play through. My only gripe is that the game is so close to being finished and it seems like it's dragged out in these last few episodes.

I normally don't read YouTube comments since the average internet user's vocabulary seems unable to extend beyond "dis games gai lolz", so I'm surprised to hear people complained about how adding a third player to the third-to-last video of Conquests of the Longbow slowed the LP's progress down too much. You might have made this explantory video significantly shorter by telling them that they're watching a 100% completion run of a Sierra adventure and not a speedrun of Super Marioland. :-p

I agree with what you say about the purpose of an LP, above all, is to have fun. Sure, people are entitled to not like what you do if they so choose, but it's YOUR LP. Constructive criticism is a nice thing to have, but if you're not enjoying yourself, there's no point.

Hah, it is all nice, but I really do not mind however you do it, or how you do it, have your fun doing it that is far more important, and on this end, as far as I am concerned, if I do not like it, I can always go read a simple walkthrough and play the game myself. I actually liked it, reminds me of the times when I was younger, and we huddled together playing a game, just being goofy. Thanks for the Let's Play, twas one of those games I always wanted to play but never got the chance.

As a regular follower of these I guess I'll leave my quick opinion. Frankly I too found it a bit annoying when Resulka came in goofying during COTL. She fits great in some funnier stuff such as LSL though. Great chick.

The best part of LPs, for me, are the personalities of the players and the way you guys all interact with the game. I thought Resulka's guest appearance was a great touch and that the way people were complaining about her "slowing the game down" was just idiotic. If they want something to just show the game being played, there are plenty of playthroughs on Youtube for them. The commentators make the LPs unique.

I'll agree with the "Let's Plays are for fun." If people want to see something done fast, they should look for a speed run. Too many people don't approach Let's Plays as fun it seems and they just want to do it as a popularity contest. :/

I am really surprised to see this video. The whole thing was definitely silly and corny, that's why it was so amusing. I'm not sure why, but this video actually has reminded me of a question I've had for some time. How long does it take you to actually record the LPs? I'm sure it varies, but what I mean is you must record multiple videos in a sitting. I'm sure you don't just play for 10 minutes and then turn the game off for a few days. So how long are episodes usually in the can before they are uploaded to YouTube?

@SuperNinja147 It depends. Sometimes I really do make the videos one at a time, playing the game only when I'm actually ready to upload. Other times, I'll make a few videos (usually just around 3 to 5) at a time. In this case, we did all the videos with Resulka in one session, because of scheduling concerns. When I think I won't have the time to record in the near future and I have a chance to do so now, I'll record several videos at once, otherwise, it's record-as-the-time-comes.

Honestly, you guys don't have to do this at all. Let's Plays are supposed to be fun, and I can appreciate you guys putting these videos of old Sierra games online, as it reminds me of my childhood and the nostalgia that comes with watching your videos. I love all three of you guys (LB,HC,Resulka) and each of you have your own personalities, which adds diversity to the comments and critiques of games. If ppl want to watch "faster" games, refrain from watching a LP. Keep up the good work guys!

@doomayam Actually, there was a moment (albeit over a year ago I think) when we could see hercrabbiness, as she has posted a video showing herself to her LP audience. IIRC she did that to apologize to her viewers that she'll have to take a break from doing regular LPs because of school or such problems (correct me if I'm wrong HC ;) ). But, as you all probably know, this clip has been subsequently removed by HC for reasons unknown. Oh well. Anyway, she looked pretty foxy then xD Love you guys ;)

@younghifi I made one video that showed my face, but it was well before I started LPing. There were a number of reasons I took it down, but generally speaking, I don't want to show what I look like to my viewers because I believe that it's irrelevant and distracting. I think it's cool when other LPers show their face on YouTube, but having so many people pay attention to my appearance would really bother me...

There really shoudnt be a need for you to apologize. Your LP should primarily be fun for you, and whatever you see fit for that just fits.
It's not like you really owe the viewers videos 'they' think are enjoyable. I think many viewers make that mistake, that they think the videos are primarily for them.
Though I dont want to imply your reason to do those videos, I just think most people wouldnt do LPs if only the viewers have fun with them. That'd be like work.. and that unpayed Oo

I thought it was a nice and refreshing to include Resulka. I can understand if some people think that she clashes with your style, but it didn't bug me, so it was a welcome surprise.
3 people may slow down a LP, but for Sierra adventures, that's ok. If you rush through any of those, you obviously don't know what the point of them is. For me, the fair was the only part of CotL that was kind of too slow. It seemed to drag on forever.

You narrate every line of dialog, do funny voice acting, make observations people like me would miss and add in the occasional joke or funny comment. I thought the introduction of Resulka was appropriate for that point in the video, but then again, I had a conversation with her a while back about the rusalka, so the connection was pretty clear to me to begin with.

Thank you, LateBlt! Let's Plays ARE supposed to be fun! If people want straight-laced walkthroughs, those are also featured on YouTube or Speed Run websites. The keyword is "Let's", as in more than one. Having guests comment with you is merely taking that aspect into effect literally. I support the idea of guests, and your guests have always come out complimenting you and vice versa. The idea is to have fun and enjoy the game. And that's what you do. Keep it up, you're always a fave.

I think the problem may just come from changing the format so far into the already existing play through. My only gripe is that the game is so close to being finished and it seems like it's dragged out in these last few episodes.
