  • Not really only certain ppl from the south was making good music basically ppl who existed during the 90's everybody else that came out after 2000 was whack from the south and they did ruin hip hop! Eastside boyz, Jeezy, souljah boy, slim thug, mike jones, TI, Scrappy, david banner, bone crusher, lil flip, franchise boyz, and the rest of dem niggaz that make shit only for the clubs and have no substance in the lyrics!

  • I remember standing in front of my middle school, waiting on my brother to pick me up, and just hoping he was bumping some 'Kast. He was, and when I enter the domain of his Acura I was immediately calm downed by his jives, the left over smell of weed and blacks, and hearing Outkast with these trumpets. I take great pride in saying I'm from the same state as they are.

  • sick song :) respect

  • Just to put all you cats to rest! The actual lyrics is *Ahem* "...and one nigga don' took his shirt off talkin' 'bout...'Now who else wanna fuck with Hollywood Court?'" Lol... Coming from a 17 year old who knows her music. :) This just my interpretation... of the situation...

But on another note! Does anyone know the origin of the chorus Andre sings? LOL I bet yall don't! Well if you didn't... He gets the "Damn damn damn James." from "Good Times". It's what Jame's Sr. used to say to J.J. lol

  • @NUASHIM damn! coming from a 17 year old guy who knows his music, a girl chill enough to listen to old school beats is my kinda lady. mad props ;)

  • @NUASHIM It almost sounded like you knew something...lol.. Damn, damn, damn came from Good Times but James didn't say it. Florida Evans actually said it on the episode when James died...

  • @Sylqui Actually, I know more than just "something". I did enjoy how you tried to insult my intellect/knowledge. However, you ARE right, Florida did say (well, shout) that in the episode when James Sr. died. Anyways, thanks for clearing that up. Could have did without the arrogance though. Eh

  • @NUASHIM Its what Florida said when James died...

  • @NUASHIM Ho please

  • Down with the kast since day one! Big Boi used to live right behind me in Cloverdale (West Savannah) whn he was juz Twan to us. Anyway, i always thought the name in the lyric was Hollywood Coe!

  • I didn't smoke when this came out. Even though it was still a fucking masterpiece I couldn't help but recomend this album to everyone I knew at the time. It's ver 10 years later and This song literally shits on everything on the radio today imo. And the sad part is that most people have never even heard it let alone give it a chance since it is rap. This song is FUCKING amazing. Smoking only makes it 10 times better and I suggest that everyone play this for your friends next time you smoke out.

  • Mississippi keeps playing hits,

    i hear ya boi

  • if andre and big boi put out an album where they composed poetry over instrumentals of this magnitude, i'd but 10 copies.

  • its a roots reggae track

  • that beat is so timeless man, should of been a video for this............

  • no need for a video to be completely honest

  • why you say that ?

  • the horns in this is just off the hinges......

  • when this came out I had 2 12jl w6s with a 2 channel 500w fosgate amp pushing it....ah the 90s...i do miss it

  • Nerdy 86, you're sick in the head if you think Big Boi is the greatest rapper. Unless you put his partner 3000 in a different category, Big Boi is not even the best in Outkast.

  • @WOWGIVEMEMYNAME fool your so incredibly stupid before i considered it someone had already spammed your dumb comment!

  • this is that classic shit, youths today cant relate to it

  • This song brings back great memories.... driving around smokin' fat sweets. One of the best songs ever!!

  • First time i heard this song i was smoking the fattest skunky spliff.. Beautiful music STH AUCKLAND 4LYF ka pai ehor

  • Has an old school 70s r&b feel to it.

  • get your skeeem on music and just lay back with your liquor glass and waite the QT"s out get your gangater on babby

  • Big Boi kills this one. The single greatest rapper performing!

  • yeah, one of the rare instances of big boi outshining andre on a track

  • technically, they both kill it every time.

  • @flyingWill777 every fucking time bro

  • @nerdy86 WHAT???? Andre 3 stacks OVERRATED? U obviously don't know shit about rap or rap skills!!!!!

  • those god damn horns woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo da da da da da da du duh da duh

  • smokin a spliff-music!

  • correction playa music

  • SpottieOttieDopaliscious

  • This is the song to groove to.

@ everyone talking about how they must have been "so high" or "smoked so much" - Dre was not smoking or drinking at this point in his life; he had to "get the signal clear". You can get high off this song without smoking, drinking, snorting, injecting, etc.

  • same here i always get high just from listening to this song the song its self its self makes me high

  • Song's old but it still goes hella hard!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song bring me back to dangerous days...

  • What is their not to understand allen? People shoot in the club all the time

  • What i don't understand is why do people continue to practice self destructive behaviors like putting themselves in danger when they are intelligent enough to function as humans

  • @allen0088 Because that's az much a part az being a human being az breathing. Human nature iz about balance. How kan U learn to be smart if you've never been stupid? There iz no light without dark mayn. . . Think about it.

  • YES

  • just.. wow!

  • i neverr understood this song, he was in the club with a girl drinking and then somebody starts shooting?

  • lol for real?

  • no, he never actually made it to the door.

This is just his interpretation of the situation.

  • lol

  • damn...

  • love this song play this song wite yo girl

    you getin some pussy lol

  • Funky blend of hip hop & soul music

  • This is the best smoking song EVER! I think this has to be the track that got them the five mics in the source. Also whats so cold about this track is that dre& big boi didnt even rap on it, all spoken word. I also looked in the credits of the song and i dont think they sampled it either.CLASSIC! ONE OF THE BEST HIP-HOP ALBUMS EVER!

  • You're so right. I got a slap in the face fist time I heard it, reminds me of early (smokey) mornings in Paris! Makes me shiver everytime.

  • @4thletta Yo this IS the best smoking song ever! Also like you said they didn't even rap...only spoken word! Best duo ever! I hate when people say that the south killed hip hop because that's def. not true

  • @SuperSolovely The south didnt kill hip hop.....the powers that be (People who run major record lables) killed hip hop.The lack of diversity is whats causing hip hops Demise and i feel thats the fault of the major record companies not giving a diffrent range of acts shine

  • everyone who knows anything knows a region cant kill hip hop... half of them are jujst mad because they aren't shining right now. Major record companies, radio stations, and BET are killing hip hop

  • @atl2maryland I totally agree with u 100%! Real talk

  • @atl2maryland you know how rock felt in the 80s with mtv haha

  • @atl2maryland U are SO SO SO RIGHT. ppl blaming the South, when music was fallin in 1997 Shiny Suit Era(Diddy and NY), then X and Jay pick it back up, then it fell again in 2002 after the JayZ/Nas battle. So the South picked it up. Outkast, Lil Jon, T.I., Luda, Bun, Little Brother, 8Ball and MJG, Face Mob, Trick Daddy were putting out good music.

  • @mistanderson NOOO. lil jon, 8 ball and mjg are horrible rappers i see no talent at all in their music.

  • @4thletta i read the article "The Making Of Aquemini". it was like the written version of Jay Z's Fade to Black and they broke down each song and Dre said it wasn't "spoken word" but "Smokin word". had me crackin up. very deep article that came out 2 weeks ago.

  • @4thletta light one up and chill out

  • @4thletta Outkast rarely sampled compared to alot of other hip hop groups. They had actualy guitarists, bassists, keyboard players, horn players that sat in. They set a standard that I thought alot of other southern artists would follow.. I guess I was wrong

  • this is just awesome smoking music outkasts reggae side hahahaha!

  • sit back light a spliff and listen

  • Amazing Track

  • naw nigga he said hollywood cole he was a OG nigga from da A

  • aquemini was the best cd ever.......even tho they didnt really rap on this track.....still one of my favourites....after this....aquemini the song.....peace from canada

  • I'm willing to bet that no one has ever been as high as these guys, when they made Aquemini.

  • LMFAOOOOOOO hell yea the proly smoked till they could barely stand nd had somebody help them get into the studio

  • this is one of the most ocmplete songs outkast has ever made....they touched on so many different parts of music, and the lyrics have so much substance, this shit just blew my mind when i first heard it when aquemini droppd.
