I understand their pursuit of nuclear weapons. They were occupied by the Japanese for 45 years and ever since have feared a nuclear attack from the Americans. During the Korean war, MacArthur requested 26 Nuclear bombs which he hoped to drop on the North. Truman obliged and sent the bombs over, and the only reason the americans didn't drop them is because of vocal european opposition. And the North Koreans are the crazy ones???

The nukes were 30-50 that MacArthur requested. Second of all Truman never sent them and didn't authorize it because Truman and the State Department feared The Soviet Union would get involved. Had nothing to do with Our Europeaon allies vocally oppossed us (which they never said anything about peoriod). Truman didn't want to drop the atomic bombs for the simple fact that it was too extreme and could lead into a much larger conflict. MacArthur was the crazy one, just like Kim.
