i really think that is true,all the facts point to it. i mean, in pokemon rescue team (R&B) the diglett says he has feet, and since it can use scratch and fury swipes, it has to be correct!

Diglett obviously has a longer body than we assume. In snap, Hitting Diglett with the pester ball makes it extend out of th ground and we still see no limbs, but it, as stated in Dungeon, dose at least have feet and it can use both scratch and fury swipes.

early sketchimages from 1997 actually pictured diglet as an earthworm, but because nintendo never has really released a full body sprite, they can make jokes about it or pretend it was intended to have claws (as he has fury swipes)

I believe that the others are generated clones when they evolve and only 1 controls the 3, that being the first one. In simple terms, I think 2 of them are brainless clones controlled by the first.

I think they made the first one Diglett, then they wanted to round the pokemon number to 150 and so they just did the Ol' Dup and Scoop technique and packaged it as a new evolution.
