High blood pressure or the medicines that are given for it are unlikely to prevent Vyvanse from working. However, moderate to severe hypertension are contraindications to taking Vyvanse because it may increase blood pressure further. Your physician who's treating your hypertension needs to be involved in the decision about whether to try any of the psychostimulants such as Vyvanse.
I'm on 50mg's right now. The first time I took it I was able to focus, but now the effect seems to have worn off. I mean, could it still be working or am I just looking for that buzzed/super focused feeling?? Yesterday I had a psychotic episode where I this huge anger burst and just broke down crying.
You may be getting used to the Vyvanse dosage and may need an increase to have more effect from it again and/or for it to last longer again. The anger and crying could be a "crash" that people quite occasionally have when the Vyvanse starts to wear off each day. Solutions you may consider with your doctor are increasing the Vyvanse to push the crash to bedtime or adding some short-acting Adderall in the afternoon or evening to stop the crash or push it to bedtime.
Excellent videos and interesting material! I just posted these two videos to amplify on what you are saying - and encourage more constructive dialog - much to learn out there, the meds work better than ever.
Sleepiness is an occasional response to Vyvanse, most often occurring 3 to 12 hours after the last dose of Vyvanse when the blood levels are tapering off during a "crash". Weight gain infrequently occurs when a person has an increase in appetite after the medication has worn off, another possible "crash" phenomena.
I actually just got prescribed this medication. I am 19 and I wanted to be able to focus and also be able to not worry about driffting off into my mind during a task im trying to concentrate on.
I am interested in this drug, but concerned about my high blood pressure. I wonder if it will work for me effectively?
