One reason why Sasuke doesn't "love" Sakura or any female for that matter is because just like he said to Naruto, they don't understand his pain. They're in love with an illusion and for that they're just a bother. But I gotta give Sakura props for holding on. Unlike Sasuke's other admirers she loves him enough to kill him to save his soul. It's almost impossible for me to imagine a happy ending for these two (no matter how hard fanfic writers try to pull it off) but I still have some hope.

In fact, I think Naruto would rather dig up Itachi's rotting body, take it over with JEEZUS JUTSU and have some big crummy lesson thing with Sasuke before he gives up! To tell you the truth, I think Kishi is trying to make it look like he's fallen so we give up on 'ole Uchiha, then BAMPH, Naruto gets him home.
