  • Now we are talking! Kimi, Spa and Ferrari!

F1 is full of Glamour, but it would had even more with Kimi, even though hes the quiet one

  • "it's done and dusted"...classic

  • thats looks like the same car Mr. schemaucher himself drove

  • Ice Man!

  • best track ever. best kimi track as well!!!! he's a boss in belgium

  • oh wow....the Bus Stop's been changed. I wasnt aware of this. Shows how long ive been away from f-1!

  • King of Spa.

  • Kimi Raikkonen and Martin Brundle at its very best.

  • awesome...anyway,Kimi,not Kimmi

  • Worst F1 Tracks

  • If there is a God, it's Martin Brundle.

  • ohh i love spa so much. my top 3 favorite tracks are spa, abu dhabi, and monza or monaco

  • @Ferrari123planb Abu Dhabi? What's so special about Abu Dhabi?

  • @Playster3 beautiful track and very complex in my opinion

  • @Ferrari123planb Yea I quite like the look of Abu Dhabi's track as well but I wouldn't compare it with tracks like Spa, Monza, Silverstone or Monaco.

  • @Playster3 yea i guess your right

  • @Playster3 You can compare Abu Dhabi with Monaco, because it's a lame street circuit.

Personally, I don't mind Abu Dhabi - it's quite fun to drive.

But in terms of races, Monaco, Abu Dhabi, Marina Bay, and Valencia, will always produce TERRIBLE races.

Street Circuits really don't belong on he F1 calendar.

We need more Fuji Speedways, more Spa's, more Suzukas.

Not these stupid, plastic, dumb Tilke tracks, with 587 tight chicanes, and walls all over the place.

  • @tjbayliss Yea perhaps Monaco doesn't exactly produce the most exciting races these days in terms of overtaking, but Monaco always has it's special place in Formula 1 and it should forever remain that way! I personally couldn't imagine Formula 1 without a race on the legendary Monaco circuit in May. F1 without Monaco would be like F1 without Ferrari. I love seeing Formula 1 cars screaming through the tunnel in Monaco and this should never-ever change!

  • @Playster3 Don't get me wrong, I enjoy DRIVING Monaco, but the races are ALWAYS boring.

This year (2011)'s race was.... OK. Definitely better than 99% of Monaco races, but still boring.

What you said is completely right of course, Monaco's history is part of F1.

But I don't believe "history" is a good enough reason, to keep a track that provides boring races

In many aspects of life and culture, people try to hold on to the old by saying it's our "history"

But that never stops the demise.

  • @Playster3 A track being "fun to drive" - isn't good enough for F1.

You need opportunities to overtake, otherwise it's completely pointless being there in the first place.

We need more Fuji Speedway's, more Spa-Francorchamps, more Silverstones.

  • @tjbayliss You can say whatever but you can't...you simply CANNOT take Monaco out of the F1 race calendar! I honestly don't even care how much overtaking is done on that track these days, the fact is that Monaco must be a part of Formula 1 as long as Formula 1 exists. I love Monaco and fortunately so do all the drivers and most of the followers of F1. You can't assess the value of a F1 track just by the amount of overtaking. Monaco must stay!

  • @Playster3 I suppose not, because it provides a different challenge.

The teams have to spray all their efforts into Qualifying, to try and get the best result.

I guess it means the race deserves to stay, because it's different.

Personally, I think that Qualifying shouldn't determine the outcome of a race.

You need the track to be wide enough to at least give the driver a chance to race others.

But it's so narrow you can't do anything, even if you are 4 seconds faster than the car ahead.

  • @tjbayliss If a driver really wants to overtake someone in Monaco then it can be done. You just gotta pick the right moment to make your move. For example in the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix Michael Schumacher started from the 22nd place on the grid and made it all the way up to 5th position by the end of the race and overtook 11 cars in the process. So you see it is possible to overtake in Monaco. Of course it's never easy to overtake someone there but it is definitely doable.

  • Its obviously 2007 because you can hear the traction control in the corners and that was banned for the '08 season.

Also, to state the obvious... the announcer notes that this was Kimi's pole lap. Kimi was on pole in 2007 at Spa, and Lewis Hamilton was on pole there in 2008.

  • one of the best tracks ever bernie don't let this track go away

  • Raikonnen was the best in SPA. He was SPA specialist!

  • @JazzJim01

Yes a real driver circuit !

  • F1 is becoming predictable: Red bull, red bull and red bull.........did i say red bull?

No? Well, red bull and Vettel.

  • @sampras25 agreed.BUT I just read an article dated a few hours ago stating that the FIA has now put a ban on blown diffusers for next months british GP. *Thunderous round of applause*

  • I there's one corner that separates the men from the boys in F1, it's Eau Rouge. You have to know where you're going because at least a third of it is unseen. Fantastic stuff!

  • red bull domination in 2011 i reckon *sigh*

  • Back when F1 cars looked amazing.

  • WATCH THIS!

I love the way this commentator is doing his job...So enthusiastic!

Talking about the lap...Just perfect, and the car,all perfect!

  • Kimi, the king of Spa.

  • Martin Brundle is the best

  • Is this boadcasted by the BBC?

  • @tttpietje560 No, at the time ITV had the broadcast rights for F1 in the UK. BBC has it now (and Brundle is the main commentator, with David Coulthard on co-comm (colour) comm.

  • Perfect lap.

  • Beautiful lap, but what is this about traction control?

  • @BFrost1 Kicks in during acceleration to reduce rear wheel spin.

  • @briank212 yeah i didnt know that the cars had traction control in 07

  • It would be much nicer if somebody close his mouth

  • @rolandgarroz or if someone doesn't post crap! Brundle IS F1

  • allez Kimi...,revient Quoi !!

  • Kimi, king of Spa. Great Driver.

  • 5 Gs? G-sus. What if the driver faints? Damn.

  • Honestly, THIS is how F1 should be broadcast. Brief cuts to position battles with majority of it an on-board play-by-play of each turn with informational blurbs on speed, G's, and braking. You really get a feel for the racing when it's displayed like this.

  • Formula 1 will never be the same without Kimi . . .

  • @TimmiOz I miss Hakkinen too :/

  • Spa and Suzuka are the BEst Circuits In the Word !!!!!!!!!!!

    Kimi the King of Spa

  • I watched it close and he braking 110 meters

  • And live for another day...

  • car is so stable on curbs !

  • The secret to cross to steep path is not to put the wheel on the curb in the upper left. I compared the video with Alonso

  • Fuck, in the first sentence I mean the f2007

  • No, it's definitely the f2008, because there is the "Marlboro" sign on the nose and the Front wing is different to the one of 2008

  • Oh Martin, you're like THE BEST F1 commentator EVER

  • Yeah, he braking 100 meters to 3 corner and only 90 meters for last chicane ?? Imposible

  • @pawelzuch its true.. stood next to the bus stop chicane that year.. 90 metres before, pullin around 4 G's whilst braking

  • Zorane, Kimi se piše s jednim m, ne s 2..

  • was he really going through eau rouge at full throttle? it seemed so...

  • @RedXcz

with the modern day cars, it's now a formality driving through without lifting.

  • @nerdkiller19 It has been since about 2001, possibly 2000 for the top teams.

  • @jianh1989 no,it's not 2008.

the race in 2008 was July 09

and i posted this video in may 24.

    its defenetly 2007

  • @zoranog yup it was, sorry my mistake mate

  • @zoranog yup it's 2007, my mistake

  • @zoranog The F2007 was a gorgeous ferrari. God I miss the old car! These '09, '10 cars look like glorified go-karts.

  • @zoranog I also don't think the F2008 even had fins on the nose like the F2007.

  • @zoranog its 2007 you hear tc

  • @zoranog July 07

  • @zoranog yep, it's surely 2007, you can clearly hear the tractioncontroll :X

  • @zoranog yes it is 2007! I was there that year! And for more proof, 2007 was the last year they were allowed traction control..

  • @zoranog defenetly 2007 because they didn`t have traction control in 2008 and car looked different

  • @zoranog yup and in 2008 you dont hear that horrible traction control noice, cuz it was banned starting 2008.

  • @zoranog race in 2008 was July 2009? Huh?

  • @zoranog Plus you hear Brundle mention traction control. Traction control was banned in 2008. Definitely 07.

  • @jianh1989 no it`s 2007.ferreari didn`t have those aerodynamic wings in 2008

  • @jianh1989 u can hear the traction control and in 2008 it was banned so its 2007 :)

  • @jianh1989 no it's 2007...

  • @alexb4204 yes this is 2007

  • @jianh1989 That's the F2007 Alright:) It's Kimi's 2007 Helmet design also:)

  • @8911145533 what's so hard to tell the difference, look at the steering wheel smarty, and the sponsor barcodes on the top. the f2008 is completely different and it's not even that long as the f2007

  • @8911145533 ppl are so foolish, thank god their people like you around to help them

  • @jianh1989 no, you can hear the traction control screaming. There was no traction control in 2008.

  • @jianh1989

the 2008 model doesnt have the lines in the nose of the car

  • @jianh1989 why would this be 2008? You can clearly hear the traction control which was banned in 2008 and you can see the barcode on the nose of that car which means it's the F2007. The F2008 didn't have a barcode on the nose and had another red

  • @jianh1989 This is actually 2007, my mistake.

  • @jianh1989 you can see at the car this is 2007, you se the stripes on his nose?

have a onboard look at the 2008 car, it doesnt have the stripes.

  • @MilanGodZ Chao cibai i made the wrong comment long long time ago, you dont have to comment on it one year after ok!

  • how was martin never champ? lol he knows so so much

  • @scottjamesmcf he was in the wrong car pretty much

never really got a decent drive

  • @99JBIZZLE He had plenty of chances to prove himself over many seasons.

  • It will be sad SPA this year ...

  • schumacher king of f1 kimi king of spa

  • Martin Brundle is a legend!

  • Best track in the world. Not some Hermann Tilke made shitty track that all fallow the same shitty routine of traight-chicane-straight-chicane-chicane-straight-chicane-straight-chicane.

  • @BigAngeloSantorini Don't forget the long straight-hairpin routine, =D

  • @BigAngeloSantorini yeah "Tilke tracks" are too big, too wide, boring combination of corners and not much elevation change. And yeah, thay all look the same! They should bring back circuits like Imola and Magny Cours!

  • They make it look that drive a f1 is soooo easy but... it isn't . :D

  • with traction control it was...now the f1 driving needs more time to learn how to brake etc...

  • lol what do u mean with traction control it was ?! ofcourse it wasnt easy those drivers are the best in the world u cannot drive an f1 car for just a couple of corners its really hard work the speed and acceleration of that thing is amazing and u have to be 100% fit to just do a couple of laps not 60 or 70 like they do in the races.

  • even with TC and ABS, these things would've been monsters to drive, like a twin-rotax kart on steroids... anybody who says that F1 cars were easy to drive has rocks in their heads...

  • apart from jenson, kimi is the smoothest driver i think... and for some reason, he likes a very oversteery car but never goes sideways...

  • No other circuit stands near it.

  • capolavoro

  • What I like about Kimi, this year, at the restart after the SC. Fisichella lifted on Eau Rouge, but Raikkonen had the guts to do it flatout on cold tires.

  • fisichella didnt lift (if your listening to his engine revs, the drop is from g-force compression, not throttle lift), but raikkonen was on his kers, and had fisi's slipstream. good pass though. eau rouge is easily flat in modern f1 cars, cold tires or not.

  • the ferrari 07 engine sound smoother

  • raikkonen is the best on this track..he flies on the eau rouge..many other drivers brake on that fast corner...he DOESN'T!

  • there are no f1 drivers 'braking' into eau rouge. maybe a lift but no one is dabbing the brakes or they'd be out of a job. I believe the team would pull them in mid-weekend!

  • Its very simple too go too eau rouge. its just a corner were you need too bee very relaxed and not be tensed on. Or maybe you are just playing a video game that isnt simulated:P

  • God why is it that I can't drive through eau rouge without lifting... IN A VIDEOGAME!!! and kimi does it like he's walking a dog. Just so fluid and effortless. god he owns this track. MCLAREN 2010!!! (the game I play is rfactor with CTDP F1 2006 mod)

  • no one can explain an f1 lap better, than martin brundle

  • Spot on!

  • @MrL0Wi Go Brundle!!!

  • @MrL0Wi Yes mate, you know it!

  • @MrL0Wi i think that murray walker could explain a lap better than brundle.....xD

  • ehh mclaren next yr or kimster

  • kimi spa.......2010!!!!! jejejej

  • Raikkonen is king at Spa..Just knows the Track. Does Fantastic every year

  • @DarkSinEXODUZ That's most of the time what its about knowing the track layout.

  • @DarkSinEXODUZ Raikinon is the king on the earth while Michael Schumacher is the king of the Univers!!!

  • Schumacher Raikkonen Massa and Alonso the best drivers EVER!!

  • Massa is not.

  • Why do they still call it a bus- stop? Morons!

They've ruined the best chicane ever :(((

  • schumacher dont come back=(=(

  • zato sto nema muda =)

  • raiko is the best, ever

  • mitic eau.rouge :-) ...high bumping in t4(rivage) . good Kimi !

  • go kimi spa 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • schumi is replacing massa!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and the oldbus stop at spa was way better

  • i prefer the newer one. the old one was changed every year. the way it is now is better IMO as long as they don't change Eau Rouge or Blanchimont, i don't care..

  • Ferrari is the best in F1. Raikkonen and Massa are my favorite drivers.

  • is it true that raikkonen is going to drive a rally car?

  • yeap...thats the news from Finland

  • yes, in Italy they are saying that is going to drive a rally car.. and be substituted in ferrari by Alonso.

( Kimi this year drove a Fiat punto s2000 in some rally events in italy)

  • yea it's true

  • i hope ferrari are not paying him in ice cream, they'll go bankrupt

  • the best circuit of the world !!!!!

but the many new asphalts make it easier :-(

  • new asphalt can be ... but the bus stop chicane is "all wrong". It should be rebuild - yes, but it should be still a DOUBLE kick

  • I apologize for my vulgarity but that's just fucking sick.

  • damn he is the best on this track... no doubt about it. i think they should name one turn after him. he really fly's through this track

  • So good he can bin it on the last lap :P

  • good lap 5 stars..go kimi!!!

  • Amazing lap. Overtook the track using a lot of space.

  • Nice

  • IMagine kimi driving the f2003/4 ferrari

    dat wud be awesome

  • That was a good lap, a piece of F1 driving expertise. Kimi Raikkonen is a good driver, both Kimi and Ferrari were good in 2007 and the Ferrari F2007 was a nice car. And Spa-Francorchamps is a difficult and fast track. I wish they would've kept the old Spa with the original Bus Stop Chicane. But Spa is still a good circuit.

  • damn that is a flyin' lap. eau rouge looks sooo fun, like the lagunaseca corckscrew in reverse haha

  • lol imagine the corkscrew but 4 times as high and 3 times as fast. Drivers experience g's in 4 directions as they go through it, and that is ignoring the acceleration.

  • Chris Goodwin and Steve Slater are the best commentators

  • hes annoying as fuck.. well sometimes

  • I liked the commentary,it would also be nice to be able to watch repeatedly without commentary

  • I like his commentary a lot more than James Allen's, thank goodness he's gone!

  • No, you drive just like him. Not the other way around. :)

  • Hehe, guess you're right :).

  • Not to mention that "No1snYpeslikme " has never ever driven an F1 car.

Hah, "He drives a lot like me". Go drive your Fiat Punto! :)

  • So drives a lot like anyone then

  • One of Kimi Raikkonen's favourite circuits Spa he has won here 3 years in a row the track shows certain similarities to his home country of Finland with lots of forestry this is what appeals most to kimi about this track so in the 2009 Season exspect a strong performance from Kimi at Spa belgium it might be worth a little wager comment by David

  • to be honest, el rouge is tht exciting anymore, it just seems to easy 4 the drivers, they should make it more narrow so tht it makes the cars look like there really dominating the race trackand itll make el rouge look more exciting and i think monte carlo , spa , and singapore are the best tracks in f1, the others are
