  • 10 people didn't watch it all

  • nice one superb

  • wow! it looks like her body is the one controling the drums. how cool!

  • What music was used?

  • What music was used?

  • That drum solo was remarkable! She must have been dancing since she could walk!

  • Can anyone tell me what the defining differences are between Egyptian belly dance and other styles? :) x

  • @Pagyptsian To my knowledge it mostly comes down to costume style (in Eygpt it's illegal to show a bare naval so most dancers cover it completely or wear a body stocking to cover it but note that's not the only difference.), Music style (classical Egyptian tends to be slower with less rhythmic changes than say something like a Turkish style) and technique (Egyptian style movements are very precise with the hips held under the rib cage). There are other diffs as well but these are the basic ones.

  • @asianmusicfan001 Thank you for explaining that to me! :) I didn't know showing the navel was actually illegal.

    x

  • @Pagyptsian You're welcome and no problem. ^-^ In Egypt it is, yes. Other places it's perfectly fine for a woman to show her navel. Really, it all depends where you're at in the world cause some countries are more conservative than others.

  • Intrancing.

  • No other so-called Belly Dancing, will ever come close to the real art of Egyptian Belly Dance; True Oriental Dance! It's an exceptional Nile's art that would stand the time for many generations to come solely on its own!!!

  • I prefer turkish belly dance, though I admit she is exceptional

  • She moves in mysteries way.

  • This is what belly dancing should look and sound like! This girl has got it! Wow!

  • OMG the second half with just the drums going is bloodly amazingg!! :O

  • there is nothing more sensual and beautiful, alluring and sexy than a woman bellydancing.

  • Finally! Belly dance without HEELS!!!! lol! I think Egyptian belly might just be the best!

  • Omg I tried this and ended up hurting myself yikkks :) guess my body isn't cut out for that stuff and when I moved my hips really fat all I got was jiggle in my stomach! but it looks so easy and it isn't! :((

  • @amboyles123 Try and watch the feet in videos like this, a lot of the hip movement is in the feet and knees. I used to try doing it the wrong way and cause I have hypermobile joints I dislocated a hip! My instructor set me straight lol.

  • @Br0kenP0rcelain Ha! thnks :P

  • @amboyles123

posture is also REALLY important! Keep your back straight, shoulders back, and butt tucked in. And your knees should be kept bent- that will make hip movements much easier. If the hip moves are still giving you trouble, bend your knees a bit more.

  • Amazing dancing! Beautiful!

  • it looks like he is having fun, :)

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G :-) One of the absolute best dancers I have ever, ever seen.

  • shes american?

  • What is the name o the song please?

  • Comment removed

  • woooooooooooow she is very good

and she knows how to do that so well

  • habbibii abo dubb

  • i would love to throw some euros on her :)

  • Great dancer! Very nice technique, and you can see she is so elegant and not vulgar. She's a true artist!

  • I liked the music. it was very hipnotizing her dance was pretty good I liked her costume too.

  • is this egyptian style in the beginning, and then turns into tribal style? i'm curious because i'm interested in taking lessons and they offer an egyptian class and a tribal class

  • @mariaperiwinkle This is all egyptian. If you want to see the difference between egyptian and tribal, look up Rachel Brice. She's a pioneer in tribal fusion. Also look for fatchancebellydance. They do the ATS (american tribal style).

  • has nothing to do with influence the dancer can simply be fusing 2 dances together or it when you study more than 1 dance form you fuse them naturally without noticing

  • I like this music it really releases you.

  • amazing dancing! her moves blow my mind! i love the music, too!

  • i love this. egyptian bellydancing to me is more like an art, and shes an amazing artist ♥

  • very upbeat! I like this video and her style, she dances with a lot of life. =]

  • Gorgeous dancing. Love the music too.

  • AMAZING.U ROCK CHICK!

  • hadharatte el 3are wa 9ahbatte

  • egyptian style is verry nice i love everything that comes with the egyptian style ......

  • @keepmeinureyes2008 I agree I love the song. Its almost like the song is what hipnesses you not the dancer. The music is just so beautiful I would love to go to some of these countries I love the culture. Its very nice and I love all the different languages. But I love the music the most of all. Her costume is very nice it compliments her very well. And so does the music.

  • niiiice!! :) I know I have this song - what's it called??

  • Hey Nasila,

It's called Saheen- Dahen Boo or a variety of other spellings. It's on the showtime CD from Zaheeas performance.

  • she is realy good.

    Is she an Egyptian dancer?

  • jest świetna :)

  • perfect cordination & style more sensual

  • I LOVE IT !

    FIVE STARS OF FIVE STARS

  • the dance is fine, but her funny faces made the dance soooo much better!

  • obviously the west- and its dance styles (hip-hop, disco, etc) having influence here. most likely many dancers danced other genres b/4 belly dnce

  • belly dancing is much older than western dances(Hip-hop and disco) hence if there is any influence it would be the other way around. To be honest I really doubt that either had a influence on the other, has those who developed hip-hop and disco may have had little knowledge of belly dancing and I am sure they did not patronise it. The similarities in dance styles can be attributed to the limitations of the human body itself. To find if there are any influences then one must look at the music.

  • @hanubamba That's not actually true. A "dance" only exists as something that people do, and people, as they're influenced by the world around them, often adapt the dance. For example, ancient egyptian bellydance is different than the modern form because of restrictions that came from Islam... which is younger than the dance. In the same way, instructors trying to recruit younger students often put modern elements. Very few things exist in a bubble.

  • that is true- the gracefulness, flow, fluidity of the dance makes it enchantin'; sometmes the dncer works it too hard . . .but she seems to connect body-mind-spirit here

  • shes not bad,,but it fells like she is a machine that has every step memorized, only natural egyptian can dance from the soal

  • Actually, I didn't know this piece by heart. Just moved how I felt. But thanks for the compliment!

    Zaheea

  • oh ok, I amegyptian and I like your dancing. But not all the moves are egyptian style, anyways good job

  • your very right i never thought of it that way i guess it was because when i first saw sadie i saw something new and different which i liked but i think belly dancing is a very beautiful dance btw what is (us-them)

  • i've seen sadie, live $ video, she okay. she's not 'top'-no such reality nothin 'out there' is 'top'; sadie has sadie style-each person unique no more us-them . . .

  • i dunno maybe because i have seen top belly dancers such as sadie when i look at this women she doesnt amaze me but she is still very good

  • us-them makes me puke=(.

  • Laila danced to this song in world bellydancing championship episode 1 i remember :)

  • a mid east dancer w/soul. to me she embody & displays (some of) the forces of creation & the meaning of belly-dance; sorry ladies, but she brings the dance to life

  • i kno especially with very few dancers in the arab world , they r going extinct :/

  • very very cute and relaxed performance! I like your style! xoxo

  • *first timer waves* Amazing... absolutely amazing. This left me breathless and just wow. I can't keep my eyes away from her. Especially by the end. The beat, her dance and her expression... It can clearly be seen she was enjoying all of this. ^_^ I'm glad I got quite curious about Egyptian dance and stumbled on this one. Heh. The only vid out of the 10 I watched that left me wanting to learn this and see more. XD She's amazing!

  • I like her emotions . . it makes her look more arabic . . graceful and amazing!

  • tight! concise, small dynamic moves. stay ahead of the (mid-east) pack=)

  • beautiful music!!!! my gosh!! what is the name of the song?? how do i get it?!

  • Hi,

the song's name is "The laughing camel of Allah's starving donkey".

    I hope that helps.

  • how disrespectful , no egyptian song is by that name !

  • Oh she is GOOD! Her opening was so graceful and then she just flies full tilt into a fantastic energetic performance. She's got a mischevious look on her face and she really looks like she's having a good time up there! A big zaghareet to her!

  • oh zaheea u r the pest thanks for u video
