  • @Ferrarie100 Thye must have added Green Tea powder in it :U

  • @paprmastr232 not Green Tea. its "Yomogi" thats japanese herb.

  • @jp2hkoba thats even more delicious :3

  • @paprmastr232 The green color is from the Yomogi aka Mugwort which is a green leafy plant you steam then chop fine and mix into mochi rice and/or mochi rice flour before steaming. Homemade mochi is the best!

  • whoaaa, with pounding like that, it's probably the best mochi in the world!

  • @JMissAznPrincess We got to eat it right as it came out of the machine (which you can't see to the right). It was SOOOOoo good. I don't think I will ever have mochi that good again unless I go back to Nara.

  • @nthmost what exactly is that? some kinda of japanese pasta?

  • @Osiriss20 Sort of. Mochi is rice, water, and sometimes sugar, and it's typically served in lumps in a variety of different ways.

Often at festivals you'll find "dango", which is a small skewered lump of unsweetened mochi that's grilled until brown and slightly gooey, and then slathered with a sweet/sour/savory soy-based sauce that's hard to describe.

Look in the ice cream section of a grocery store and you might find mochi-covered ice cream!

  • the guy on the left probably gets paid less.

  • @pagespwn no its japanese

  • @slicker9996

You can find that many dishes in the Southeast Asian region are similar as the ingredients are shared throughout the different countries. Mochi is Japanese, but the Chinese have a similar traditional dessert, but coated typically with dessicated coconut or, like mochi, soy flour. The filling is also either red bean paste or a mixture of crushed peanuts, sugar and dessicated coconut.
