  • My school is playing this

  • We played this in the Rochester Community Orchestra some years back. We had many top musicians in the Rochester area. One day the conductor Frederick Fennell gave me the chance of a lifetime. He turned over the baton to me and said, "Let's hear what you can do.!" I felt SO GREAT!!!! I only wish I could have recorded this work.

  • Hey, That's in Tel-Aviv, and this is the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra!! :D

  • The note is so clear and wrong that it sounds like someone pasted a wrong note in after. It's cute.

  • Check the manuscript. There is a Neapolitan Sixth weighing in with the oboe!

  • LOL! I love the 2nd flutist's reactlon...big smile :) Even the pros screw up!

    ~S

  • Dancing and laughing.....

  • A Fistful of Datas, picard's quarters.

  • @vclxrr

Looked this up just because of that :D

  • @squaredbowl =D

  • i don't know what you're all complaining about... you don't even really notice the clarinet's wrong note if you're not paying full atention!

  • I am sorry to say it but this is fail orchestra

  • @killingviper1 I am sorry to say it but you are f****** Nazi. Get out from the earth you m***********.

  • @almostfm

Its definetely not a double reed bassons are too low and oboes sound different. At first i thought it was an english horn but there is no english horn in the piece and the sound is just like a clarinet. Trust me i know its a clarinet

  • very funny the expression of second flute...

  • i must say the flute is amazing in this video

  • hahahaha just look the second flute player at 2:36 and listen carefully the clarinet had a wrong entress lol..and the face of the flute player lol

  • oh yes... we play this piece of his by five accardions XD it's fun!!! :D

  • 1:26-1:59

  • is that sawalisch? great reading either way...

  • Performed in Jerusalem?

  • this was amazing to was an amazing piece to see played in real life

  • but oh deary.. i must say im in love with the oboe and flute solos!!!!!! GAHHHHDJSKHCBJZDKHVDSKHF

  • theres some balance issues... strings are too powerful in sections.

  • GREAT!

  • Bellissima!

I enjoyed it from the RAI National Symphony Orchestra in Turin Royal Theatre.

    5 stars from Italy

  • clarinetto il ritornello!!!!!!!!!! a 2.36

  • Dvořák at his best, thanks!!!

  • awesome :)

  • Israel philharmonic forever, youuuuuuuchouuu!!!

  • i wasnt complainin the performance was tremendous...very impressive....

  • everyone makes mistakes

  • mistake made at 2.36, guy hits a bum note.... havnt we all though eh!!!!

  • living people make mistakes, luckily...

  • lol

  • overall it was fantastic! i did hear a squeal at 2:44 from the band..

  • yes i agree. they definitely transcend sexuality. j/k :D

  • rofl, go do some push ups

  • A lot of recordings have mistakes in them, but they get published anyway. It's the overall mood that counts. I'd say this qualifies.

  • my friend and i found it so great that the clarinet made an oopsy. it just shows mistakes happen to the best of us.

  • where does this mistake occur? i cant really tell and im just curious

  • at 2.35 - I would have sunk into the earth of shame... but it happens to the best of us...

  • @HardyLeo i haven't noticed it before you said that. It's really not a big mistake for the untrained ear.

  • @HardyLeo

lol!!! Most of those in the audience would not have noticed. Stiil, a great performance.

  • at 2.37, someone played when they shouldn't have and the man gives a funny face.

  • indeed...

  • Comment removed

  • playing this for region youth not that hard

  • I agree with xxMuttonsxx !!!! I also play in a youth orchestra and it is hard.

  • i think this is a great piece by dvorak and the clarinetist screwed something up nice violins they stayed on track

  • The clarinetist forgot the repeat sign.shit happens.great trombones by the way

  • This the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Wolfgang Sawalish

  • Overall this is sweeping; majestic!

  • WTF? Has anyone heard of the English horn? Duh....the guy squeaked the reed and the dude just down from him made a face. Watch again

  • lol

  • @Missanthropic74

This dance doesn't call for an English horn, so you're wrong. It was the clarinet.

  • @ThaSchwab

Thanks! good to know someone is that Nerdy to notice!

    Actually that totally makes sense.

  • @Missanthropic74

I'm a classical music aficionado and I had to look up the score for this one.

  • @ThaSchwab It's not a clarinet--it's a double reed. I'm pretty sure the piece calls for two oboes, but I don't have the score in front of me.

  • @almostfm

It's a clarinet ... I don't know how you could think otherwise. This argument has been going on for two years on something that should be obvious by now.

  • @ThaSchwab

@2:37, I'm looking at the balding guy with the glasses. He is not playing a clarinet. If you think someone else clammed the note, then I'll accept that it could be the clarinet, but if that's the guy who played it, it's an oboe.

  • @almostfm

He's off-screen. Listen to the note he plays accidentally, and then wait until he is supposed to play it and then hum it. It fits in.

  • I played on piano in the orchestra, very nice.

  • Playing this in my Youth Orchestra group, it's a lot harder than it sounds.

  • oh yeah me too, its rlly fast

  • well i play timpani, so uh you aint seen nothingyet

  • OK friends, It was NOT the clarinet! 'Twas the oboe.

  • Yes it was indeed the clarinet. Although it shows the oboe player taking the instrument out of his mouth, his mouth is open as he's taking it out. He couldn't have played the note. The note played doesn't even sound like an oboe.

  • no it was the clarinet

  • Well, I'm only a cellist, but at 2:36, the poor creature missing the repeat certainly looks sounds and looks like the oboe. That's a long reed extending out of the top, doesn't look at all like a clarinet. At least the flute player enjoyed the moment.

  • I'm only a violinist, but I absolutely agree.

  • It does sound like a clarinet, but it shows it as the oboe... hmmmm...

  • WOW lol

  • Yup. The clarinet 1 forgot the repeat and went on. Love the reaction from the flute player in front of the clarinettist. haha.

  • Definitely the clarinet not the oboe. Completely different sounds.

  • 2:36 pure gold :D :D

  • hahahaha :D :D :D

  • 2.36! Ahahah!!

  • I was just about to say that! Did the oboe just screw up??? wow

  • no that was a clarinet you heard

  • orgy. pure orgy

  • we play it 8 hands, its beautiful!! :)

  • I had this one down at 13 years of age.

  • Congratz wana Ima Douchebag Cookie? Cuz you deserve it

  • amazing...everytime

  • Wonderful! I heard this at the Edinburgh Festival Fireworks concert and have loved it ever since...

  • hah atleast it was a confident mistake! it was a clarinet missing repeat...

  • The oboist.

  • Beautiful!

  • The end of the piece sounds like beethoven's 9th symphony

  • 3:12-3:16 u hear a boo boo, its faint but u hear it

  • i love the conductor! he really puts feeling into it without going ridiculously over the top like some

  • yeah your right it is a mistake. I've performed this piece before and that note is definitely not in the clarinet part

  • Thanks for posting. Who is the conductor and which orchestra is playing?

  • surely its a mistake^^

  • 2:35 is it a mistake? or should it be there? the man forward looks surprised...so i don´t know...do you?

  • its a mistake

  • could be an original version based on a manuscript ?

  • 3:39 Oral fixation!

  • you mean aural fixation. i get mixed up too. just think that Oral B make toothbrushes (Oral mouth, aural ear)

  • I went to a youth orchestra today, at the beginning it scared my . But this is beautiful.

  • at 2:35 ... lmao thats the best solo i've ever heard ! :D:D:D:D:D:D just teasing... it all depends on if your playing the song with repeats 2nd time or not :P

  • cool I played this in school. though it really sucked ^^

this is cool, it's actually far more faster than I expected

  • YAY!! we just played this at school!!! Not as good though...lol

  • Hey guys, can you tell me what's wrong with this? this video won't play anymore. It says that it's not available.

  • It seems fine for me at the moment... : /

  • i guess it was both...

anyway this is one of my favorite!!

    thanks alot!

  • It sounded like an oboe to me. Could've been a clarinet though.

  • I think it was oboe

  • to me it lookd like the oboeist did it, but i think it sounds like a clarinet!

  • Definitely clarinet - oboes can't make clarinet sounds

  • I am pretty sure it was the clarinet because of the sound; and look at his face: He tries to hide himself.

  • but are you sure it was the clarinet?

to me it sounded like an oboe- and the oboe you see at 2:36 has the instrument up even though hís entry comes only at 2:44... it seems that he puts his oboe down rather fast as the flute gives a laugh

  • He was never playing. He had his instrument up because he was doubling the second violins in the next four measures.

  • I lOVE THIS SONG.

    SOOOOOO MUCH

  • Haha I love it, the first clarinet made a very funny and audible mistake at 2:36

  • hahaha i heard it to. its so random lol

  • forgot to play the repeat!

  • Wich orchestra is this?

  • Israel Philharmonic Orchestra...

  • Thanks!!

  • My school band is playin this. I play timpani, and its.......hm......VERY HARD

  • Comment removed

  • bravo

  • That oboe flute duet at 1:28 is so touching.

  • why?

  • I don't know what the hell you're talking about, as this is a masterpiece played as a masterpiece.

  • I think that I might be capable of deciding this because I have heard many great orchetras perform this live including Berlin, New York, and Los Angelos

  • That's three orchestras out of the hundreds of great orchestras on this planet.

Also, you guys have to be stupid to think the mistake was made by an oboist. The reason the oboist's instrument is up is because he was playing his part at that moment, and the note he was playing was nowhere near the note the mistake was.

  • Very professionally produced and played! A goal for the EPSYOs to shoot for. I like the flying camera shots.

    Steve

  • 2.35 we hear an oboe or clarinet going back to the main theme, mistake, didn't repeat the passage!!!

  • Yep - you are right. Very subtle mistake. Still sounds OK, though.

  • you also see the look one of the other players gives :)

  • isn't that so funny.... I'm sure it was a clarinet, by the way

  • I love the end. I'm glad we're playing this in my Orchestra = )

  • Does somebody know the name of the conductor?
