@sunmotor1000 Me too. Ya know it just dawned on me that those two may've been what started Herbie from the love bug too. Why were all the mAGICAL cars bugs back then? Later we got the T-top KITT and the Delorian BTTF. But it was fun while they were alive. How about that for a new remake? Would a car super hero do as well as Batman or Spiderman in theaters? LOL The love bug did at one time.
John-Anthony Bailey was great on this show and as Sticks on "Happy Days". But he fell on hard times and ended up appearing in adult films. I am not joking. You can look this up on imdb. He died of bladder cancer a few years ago and was buried in a mass grave.
I remember I was obsessed with this show when I was 7 years old. I was staying with my grandparents that winter break and I remember talking about Wonderbug with them. I also recall making noises like Schlep Car in school.
For some reason I remember an episode of this that had Don Sutton, who was pitching for the Dodgers at the time, in it. I think at the end of the episode he threw a cherry at the "bad guy", (already cuffed?), because for some reason the guy had whipped cream or something on his nose & of course the cherry landed perfectly in the center of whatever was on his nose. Does any one remember this?
I think all of us Gen-Xers owe the Kroffts alot. They made Saturday mornings wonderful!!! I remember I couldn't wait till Saturday came so I could wake up and watch all these fun and entertaining shows. I must still be a kid at heart I still LOVE WonderBug. Still COOL after all these years!!
when you're trippin on acid remember that your wunderbug was made by the ubermensch to make fururvurgnugen. why does this remind me of a scene from the film brain damage?
Gods.....I remember this!! I was a wee tot at the time but I do remember watching this and the Speed Buggy cartoon and thinking how odd to see Speed Buggy in real life! Trippy!
@RawCop Probably, but you gotta admit, those guys had some real innovative ideas for TV shows, the likes of which have never been seen before, or since.
@Akira625 Yeah, I think the 1970's and the 1980's were a time of free expression and experimentation as we do see from the TV programs. I grew up then and I would not trade it for anything.
@RawCop LOL NAH just cartoon adicts. LOL They kinda copied Speed Buggy on this one. He had his antifreeze. wonder bug had his horn. I had so many tardies to junior high school due to Kroft. It came on when I was due to leave the house. I was a latch key kid that had to leave on my own and I couldn't tear myself away. LOL Too bad they didn't air these after school like they do kids shows morning and afternoon now.
Yep, Jamal in New Wave Hookers. Don't you just want to have him stand up in Wonderbug and get in a shouting match with Jamie Gillis about how great things will be when those New Wave Hos get it on with them?
Sid and Marty dominated the Saturday 70s scene and I loved this show too! I thought I was the only one to watch the show. I wonder if the actors are still living. I don't think they worked much after this was done.
as I say to people born way past the seventies, just forget that decade NEVER happened. There were no Bee Gees or Disco. It was all a very bad tripp er I mean dream.
That was SPEED BUGGY CARTOON-Not Wonder Bug-Guess who did Speed Buggys voice...MEL BLANC who was the BARNEY RUBBLE of THE FLINSTONES-HEATHCLIFF-and voiced TWINKY the robot from BUCK RODGERS
I saw all these Kroft superstar shows when I was a kid. Would be nice to and them all again. The full shows not just all these clips.

@1Sandwitch1 Yeah it's not Tinker and antifreeze, but they're essentially the same. I grew up on them both. They even got the same paint job.
