  • einfach nur genial....er hat nichts von seiner ausstrahlung verloren

  • gettin podgy Neil, ease up on the biscuits!

  • my time...my love ...it feels good

  • I love the chording at around 0:49. It's simple but beautiful.

  • @smjenkin simplicity is one of the hardest things to accomplish :)

  • @SaypheZonE so true

  • My hero and favorite artist. This is such a poetic song. He is appearing where I live but the cheapest tickets were 200!

  • Neil just doesn't know how to suck!

On his worst night... we would still stand amazed.

This song, and this artist got me past a bunch of dark times.

    Long may he run.

  • Neil Young. One of the greatest singer-songwriters in the history of popular music. Canada's greatest ,no doubt about that

  • Double drop D. There's a lesson on Youtube in this key. Poor video quality though

  • does anyone know what chords he's playing?

  • It's in double dropped D

    I play D5, Dm7, Dsus4, Bb, Am7, F, Em7, G7, Cadd9.

  • @ShelsleySpecial and he"s dropped the key two frets low too....

  • I have NEVER had the honour of seeing Neil live. I am so proud that my daughter HAS. "Keep on Rockin' in the free world" Neil. Those of you who have too, are very lucky. Cheers

  • @Jjjj2828

DO It! He's worth every accolade he's received. Always fresh and alive. Priveliged enough to have seen him with many bands, many venues. All dear, fond memories. Long may you run.

  • What a gift Neil has bestowed upon us. I am SO glad I was here when he was. Another fabulous gift was when my 22 year old daughter actually went and saw him last year, kudos Neil! You have bridged the generations with you timeless creations. She called me from Calgary, 1500 miles away, during Old man, I just put the speaker phone on and tears ran down my face until it ended and she just perfectly ended the call. I play and play alot of Neil and our children grew up listening to "Old Man" thru me

  • Beautiful :)

  • @syroste i like that dork neil 2...!! but i'm not doing an info-mercial!!! I cry to!!! but i aint tellin yoo's why.......!!!

  • @Jjjj2828

another thing with Neil concerts - 3 to 4 (now) generations of fans! Grandpas and ma's all the way to the newborns. It's absolutely wonderful... what a consistent force he has been since entering into our lives. Obvious in it's absence, he never sang about the generation gap, like so many of his contemporaries, and look who's still standing!

    Long may you run!

  • @Jjjj2828 You did a great job with your kids!!! When I taught my kids to rock n roll we would play Keep On Rockin' In the Free World, Cortez the Killer and so on. We went to see Neil do Greendale too! But about the time they turned 18 they discovered Pantera, Metallica and now Neil, Jimi and myself are hacks compared to John Petrucci, Dimebag and the like...They won't even jam with me until I rehearse for a week first... Neil sounds tired ...He should retire or do some death metal and wake up!

  • It doesn't get any better than Neil. His music is like a window directly into his soul. Pure and honest.

  • Great song, there are better versions of himself playing this in the 1970's, one from BBC in particular, but, whatever. Thanks so much for posting this, though.

  • yeah from '71, couldn't agree more matey, best version i ever heard.

  • nice ,,, respect ,,,neil

  • There is a great cover version of this on

    BirdLivesInMe youtube page

  • bit of a tight edit - get 10 seconds on the start of de-compression matey

  • One of my favorite Niel Young songs, from my favorite Niel Young album. This is such a beautiful performance.

  • He IS the Man, going to see him on Saturday in Hyde Park and I can't wait.

  • Blind man running

    through the light

    of the night

with an answer in his hand

Why does it take a blind man to find the answer?

    Why cant we?

  • Chrome Dreams-3 1/2 stars, Living With War-3 3/4 stars, Prairie Wind-3 stars, Greendale-4 1/2 stars.

  • neil doesnt deserve to have fans like that... this performance was amazing.

  • Neil will pack in when he dies. Which will hopefully be after idiots like you.

  • Written by a true retard.

Go and listen to some emo shit and leave the real music to Neil.

    Cock!

  • Uh, says who?

Greendale is a cool album. Prairie wind was a really strong album; Living with War was ropey but still had the fire. Chrome Dreams II was uneven but had some gems on it.

He's still releasing good stuff as far as I'm concerned.

  • wanker

  • Does Neil still use that Martin with the MARTIN

inlaid in the head stock.. I've seen Neils use this guiat for this song in the 70's.

Think it actually belonged to Stills.. No not the D45,,this is a 1948 D28 I think..anyone shed some light please.

    Thanks

  • the chorus gives me chills. beautiful.

  • absolutely amazing

  • Has the same haunting passion as when he first wrote and performed this way back in the early 70's..amazing.

  • you took the words right out of my mouth..he sings with such emotion in all his music..he is a true legend..

  • I was just about to write that... :)

  • fucking neil young... whatta beast

  • The groove is so cool even with no drums. His groove is deeep

  • my lord it is

  • thats not neil ,close ,but who is it

  • that would be neil

  • i absolutely love this song

  • Amsterdam!!! the 3rd and last show over there!

  • youre very lucky you got to see him

  • wow! where is this?

  • This man is incredible.
