@FoolyCoolyMabase fresh dragon fruit is a lot like kiwi...while dried dragon fruit is more spongy and chewy.....i just had a fresh one rite now....the ones we grow here in Bangladesh are white inside unlike the red/pink ones on the vdo.....if u like kiwis then ull like dragon fruits....tastes tangy and sweet.

Note: Only GREEN dragon fruits are unsafe! Don't get it twisted! By itself (white and red), dragon fruit are similar to melon and kiwi. It's a bland fruit but it is perfectly safe.

@SpartaThis lol no. there are white dragon fruits and red dragon fruits, on the inside that is, the red ones are more common are really cheap, while the white ones are rarer and harder to cultivate, so or a bit more expensive, but the best of them is this white dragon fruit with the yellow outside skin, also known as a yellow pitaya, the are pretty rare and very very sweet !

i've literally just finished eating a dragonfruit, the variety with white flesh on the inside though not the red, the outside is not edible, the flesh itself didnt taste of anything to be perfectly honest, with the next one i'll try what these guys said and let it go a bit before i eat it to see if it becomes any sweeter, great addition to a fruit salad or something though, if only for the texture =]

I am in Canada. I bought one in Loblaws Supermarket. The dragon fruit I ate is white inside, and the outside is red. It is a bit sweet, not too sweet and no smell. It is very juicy. The seeds are small, don't worry about them, I used a spoon and dig out the white stuff, I love it because it does not have a strong taste. It costs me Can $15 to buy two dragon fruit. No cheap.
