Liam told me at the Crystal that his Facebook page is an impostor and the boys are not allowed on Facebook. I was there attempting to warn others and expose the impostor. Check the page out again. I designed a Libera Coat of Arms and had 60 printed on parchment. Rob Prizeman suggested that he have them printed and give to the boys in Norbury as mine may not make it back from the Crystal. Barbara Geraghty agreed to bring the box back herself. Hardly a snub.

they are like someone who you dont want to sit and waste your time obsessing over thinking that some day they will love you...they wont. They actually have a pretty dim view on their "fans". Always keep in mind that the videos you see are just smaller versions of movies...they arent real. They are made to sell CDs and that is all they (prizeman that is) are interested in doing.

I'm still a little bit confused though... Libera is a not for profit boys choir, so how would the CD sales influence the amount of money Prizeman makes? Wouldn't he get the same amount of money from EMI for being the director/producer, regardless of how well the CD sales did?
You need to understand the definition of "not for profit" which up until this year, has never been mentioned by Prizeman, Libera or any other persons, ever. Now you cant hear the word "Libera" without "not for profit" immediately afterwards. Basically, if LIbera's "expenses" equal the "take" and you can attach yourself to an established charity (like St. Philips) then bingo! You dont really think that Prizeman and all his "help" actually do all this for free do you? Only the boys get gypped.
Well, that's why I said I was confused, because I don't really understand. Obviously, Prizeman and most everybody else involved in making Libera happen, would get some money from EMI. So do most of the earnings go to St. Philip's then? As their "charity"? And I don't really see not paying the boys as "gypping"... I mean, obviously for all there hard work some money wouldn't go amiss, but getting those experiences for free is really quite something!
The only problem with paying for St Philips is that it is a dead church. The choir outnumbers the congregation on any given sunday. It is so bad there, the parents of the choirboys wont even attend that church just to hear the boys sing. After attending there, it becomes quite clear why no one attends. Im not convinced that most the money goes to St. Philips, I think Prizeman's personal home recording studio and paycheck takes the lions share of any proceeds.

None...and I mean none of the boys are actually members of that church. Some dont have the same faith and some dont have faith at all. They are recruited from the surrounding areas like a sports team would do. They have a much harder time than you think filling the ranks of the choir, and once some of the boys and their families get a taste of the misery that goes on there, they quit and I dont blame them. The turnover rate is pretty high.

Only about a handful of names... And why would the older boys like Ben and Steven stick around if it was that bad?

What about the dozens who have gotten out and never returned? What about the lack of a congregation? Friendly places dont have problems getting people to stick around or have new ones join. Let me make this easy...Prizeman is a jerk. Some of the people who "help" with Libera are jerks. Washington and his people with the church (who arent exactly wonderful either) have a running feud with prizeman. In between all of this, you have the visitors who are treated like crap (therefore replaciing dying off members of st. philips is impossible) and the boys, who start out wonderful, but after being exposed to all of that turn into less that pleasant people also. LIbera is showbiz.

Like I have said before, the boys start out wonderful, but they get "educated" to be rude, indifferent and bigoted by Prizeman and his minions. The boys (and thier families) actually get chewed out or told off for being kind to visitors and such. But the thing that doesn't make sense is if Prizeman uses Libera for his own gain, why doesn't he put himself "out there" more? His name isn't to be found on their website, Facebook or MySpace, and interviews with him are rare. He could do a lot more... And the boys aren't rude to their fans, at the meet and greets and the signing sessions. Is it just at St. Philips where they are rude? They all seem very grounded, too.

Im not so sure that Libera will survive whether prizeman is there or not...the church is dead and is probably being looked at by the diocese to be on the chopping block. I doubt anyone else will put up with prizemans bullshit..so them moving to another church doesnt seem likely, but you never know. Libera isnt run from St. Philips. It is run from Prizeman. St Philips is nothing more to prizeman than a place to get the boys some practice by singing for the services and getting used to singing in front of people. Basically it is his personal training facility with a pathetic ministry attached. The faith part of it doesnt even come into play. Prizeman is using the church for the tax writeoff and a choir hall,he couldnt care less about the "faith" part of it. No other choir toured on Easter.

I used to think highly of prizeman too, but then I met him. They have been crying for years about how no one local seems to care about them or support them. After seeing how they treat the locals and the visitors, it is no wonder they cant get any fans in england. If more Americans went over there and got their version of hospitality, then the American fan base would dry up too.
Well, Americans don't get a great reception in other countries most of the time anyway. A lot of people think that Americans all fit the "American stereo type" which isn't true... So chances are most Americans that visit St. Philips pass the non-hospitality off as response to their "American-ness". A major reason that Libera doesn't have more British fans is that the British are more traditional than Americans (in most cases) and Libera's music strays from classical choir music...
I dont think they save their bigotry, indifference and contempt for Americans only. I have seen them treat fellow brit visitors just as crappy. They seem like people with something to hide. Anyone getting to know or just being friendly with the boys or their families is treated like a threat. Im not sure what it is they have to hide. Rev.Washington gave Rob Prizeman my e-mail address and I received a rather lengthy & warm letter from both & noticed no tension at all between them. I have attended 2 Libera concerts,Riverside & Crystal, met several parents & most of the boys & without exception they were very friendly and polite. they are like someone who you dont want to sit and waste your time obsessing over thinking that some day they will love you...they wont. They actually have a pretty dim view on their "fans". Always keep in mind that the videos you see are just smaller versions of movies...they arent real. They are made to sell CDs and that is all they (prizeman that is) are interested in doing.

I'm still a little bit confused though... Libera is a not for profit boys choir, so how would the CD sales influence the amount of money Prizeman makes? Wouldn't he get the same amount of money from EMI for being the director/producer, regardless of how well the CD sales did?

You need to understand the definition of "not for profit" which up until this year, has never been mentioned by Prizeman, Libera or any other persons, ever. Now you cant hear the word "Libera" without "not for profit" immediately afterwards. Basically, if LIbera's "expenses" equal the "take" and you can attach yourself to an established charity (like St. Philips) then bingo! You dont really think that Prizeman and all his "help" actually do all this for free do you? Only the boys get gypped.

Well, that's why I said I was confused, because I don't really understand. Obviously, Prizeman and most everybody else involved in making Libera happen, would get some money from EMI. So do most of the earnings go to St. Philip's then? As their "charity"? And I don't really see not paying the boys as "gypping"... I mean, obviously for all there hard work some money wouldn't go amiss, but getting those experiences for free is really quite something!

The only problem with paying for St Philips is that it is a dead church. The choir outnumbers the congregation on any given sunday. It is so bad there, the parents of the choirboys wont even attend that church just to hear the boys sing. After attending there, it becomes quite clear why no one attends. Im not convinced that most the money goes to St. Philips, I think Prizeman's personal home recording studio and paycheck takes the lions share of any proceeds.

None...and I mean none of the boys are actually members of that church. Some dont have the same faith and some dont have faith at all. They are recruited from the surrounding areas like a sports team would do. They have a much harder time than you think filling the ranks of the choir, and once some of the boys and their families get a taste of the misery that goes on there, they quit and I dont blame them. The turnover rate is pretty high.

Only about a handful of names... And why would the older boys like Ben and Steven stick around if it was that bad?

you will just have to go over and experience the "warmth and fellowship" to understand what I mean. Just because a few boys stick around doesnt mean it is a bed of roses over there. What about the dozens who have gotten out and never returned? What about the lack of a congregation? Friendly places dont have problems getting people to stick around or have new ones join. It sounds like you want to believe what you want to believe. Just keep in mind, reality tells a different story.

I'm just trying to understand. Up to this point, none of the people who I'd talked to who had attended services at St. Philips said anything like this. So the people at St. Philips aren't very friendly to fans, then? That surprises me, because when I met some of the boys when they came to the US in 2008, they were all very friendly and talked easily with the fans. The lack of congregation does surprise me... If the choir outnumbers the congregation, why would they continue singing at services?

Probably because they were either starstruck, fooling themselves, or people of questionable intentions. Think about it, do you really think you would be speaking to people who were treated badly and turned their back on that place? Probably not. You would never know they had even been there since they wouldnt be gushing, praising, or even bring up they had ever been a fan at all. I met a few of these people and I saw how they were treated. But people like to believe what they want.

Yep, and the worst thing about it is that the boys are wonderful, loving, kind, happy and welcoming, until they get "educated" to be like the ilk of St. Philips and Prizeman. They also have to be caught in the middle of the cat fight going on between Prizeman and Washington (the vicar of St. Philips) which has to be difficult for young kids to endure. it's no wonder they grow into suspicious, fearful, indifferent teenagers.

Let me make this easy...Prizeman is a jerk. Some of the people who "help" with Libera are jerks. Washington and his people with the church (who arent exactly wonderful either) have a running feud with prizeman. In between all of this, you have the visitors who are treated like crap (therefore replaciing dying off members of st. philips is impossible) and the boys, who start out wonderful, but after being exposed to all of that turn into less that pleasant people also. LIbera is showbiz.

Like I have said before, the boys start out wonderful, but they get "educated" to be rude, indifferent and bigoted by Prizeman and his minions. The boys (and thier families) actually get chewed out or told off for being kind to visitors and such. Course the pedophiles have an inhouse "friend" who practically paves the way for them to go over and lust after the boys. He uses Libera for his own "fame" and doesnt care who he gets it from.

But the thing that doesn't make sense is if Prizeman uses Libera for his own gain, why doesn't he put himself "out there" more? His name isn't to be found on their website, Facebook or MySpace, and interviews with him are rare. He could do a lot more... And the boys aren't rude to their fans, at the meet and greets and the signing sessions. Is it just at St. Philips where they are rude? They all seem very grounded, too.

As far as the kids being kind during the meet and greet,didnt he have them they begging for money?Also,at the recent Arundel concert(and the last one too)there was no meet and greet.The concert ended and that was it. Well, I don't know if that is 'begging for money'... It was a free concert, so a donation makes sense. Its quite sad that that is all happening, but I'll continue to support Libera. What about when Prizeman retires? He's been the choirmaster at St. Philips since he was 18, and there's no way he'd want to do that forever... Do you think Libera would survive?

Im not so sure that Libera will survive whether prizeman is there or not...the church is dead and is probably being looked at by the diocese to be on the chopping block. I doubt anyone else will put up with prizemans bullshit..so them moving to another church doesnt seem likely, but you never know. Also, now that he has the boys actively begging at concerts and he is actively begging online, I wonder if there will be enough money to keep them going even without the anchor of St. Philips.

That's what I was thinking... but because Libera is run from St. Philips, I'd say they have a pretty good chance of staying alive. As far as moving to another church, the likeliness is determined by what direction you look at it from. In don't think Libera would want to uproot themselves from their history, but as Libera's fanbase grows, more people become involved with the group that aren't associated with St. Philips...Maybe one day an older boy like Ben C. or Steven will be the director...

Libera isnt run from St. Philips. It is run from Prizeman. St Philips is nothing more to prizeman than a place to get the boys some practice by singing for the services and getting used to singing in front of people. Basically it is his personal training facility with a pathetic ministry attached. The faith part of it doesnt even come into play. Prizeman is using the church for the tax writeoff and a choir hall,he couldnt care less about the "faith" part of it. No other choir toured on Easter.

Well, I mean its run out of St. Philips. St. Philips is its "home ground". And whatever else Prizeman is, his music is musical genius and the "Libera sound" he's groomed over the years is pretty incredible. Which is the one thing that makes him different then other people with similar goals. He actually created a sound, a group, that people wanted to hear. I wonder why they don't do more concerts in England though. They could easily tour around the north of England over half-term or something...

I used to think highly of prizeman too, but then I met him. They have been crying for years about how no one local seems to care about them or support them. After seeing how they treat the locals and the visitors, it is no wonder they cant get any fans in england. If more Americans went over there and got their version of hospitality, then the American fan base would dry up too.

Well, Americans don't get a great reception in other countries most of the time anyway. A lot of people think that Americans all fit the "American stereo type" which isn't true... So chances are most Americans that visit St. Philips pass the non-hospitality off as response to their "American-ness". A major reason that Libera doesn't have more British fans is that the British are more traditional than Americans (in most cases) and Libera's music strays from classical choir music...

I dont think they save their bigotry, indifference and contempt for Americans only. I have seen them treat fellow brit visitors just as crappy. They seem like people with something to hide. Anyone getting to know or just being friendly with the boys or their families is treated like a threat. Im not sure what it is they have to hide. Rev.Washington gave Rob Prizeman my e-mail address and I received a rather lengthy & warm letter from both & noticed no tension at all between them. I have attended 2 Libera concerts,Riverside & Crystal, met several parents & most of the boys & without exception they were very friendly and polite. Low attendance at Anglican churches all over the UK is the norm Rev.Washington's health may be a contributing factor at St.Philip's. Could never understand how people like you thrive on the negative

The Riverside ticket was $25.00 & the Crystal Cathedral was a FREE offering. That's Show Biz?
