  • soooo many egos sharing their knowledge of guitars......but you kept it slow and steady...scales are confusing to a older learner so well done for making it easier for me....

  • Appreciate the post man ! ! !

" Kinda new" at this and frigging forget what was shown to me by the time I get home sometimes..If I learn it wrong I'm screwed because once practiced wrong I can't seem to stop doing the same crap over and over again even if my brain say's No ! ! !

My figures have a mind of their own it seems...Getting old sucks, try not to do it brudda,it's not it's all cracked up to be man..... Thanks Again......

  • very helpful... thanks alot for posting

  • at 07:18 it supposed to be 15th fret on A string not 14th but great video

  • skwisgaar's brother?

  • This is an example of what sound guitar teaching should be. Easy and slow with the newbie in mind and heart. I wish you could start teaching leaks using your awesome approach.

Why dont you take this style of teaching further and start teaching other you tube guitar gurus how to teach.

  • Great lesson! thanks much

  • why does every guitar teacher or dude who works in a music store NEED to show off all the time? Just do the scales.

  • @fatfacerick when you play constantly, it ceases to be showing off and becomes a compulsion. you must move your fingers, and most people like to move their fingers in a way that is interesting to them. at least that's what i've found.

  • @dvermilion Fair enough. But I've been playing constantly for 11 years and i haven't found that. Especially in guitar stores, the staff are so into showing off it's ridiculous.

  • @fatfacerick gotta make it look attainable for all the kids who will quit a week later :D those guys work on commission!

  • Is this majeur or minor?

  • @PunkRockCovers - This is a minor pentatonic series.

  • This is an awesome lesson. I learnt a great deal. Very well taught and in detail. Thank you so much.

  • I never bothered to learn any scale shapes, what I did was to learn how each scale formula worked. like Dorian = 1 2 b3 4 5 6 b7 and learnt what each interval sounded like and how to grab them from wherever I am on the frettboard. This mixed with the memorization of the note placements gave me freedom of the fretboard, I never have to think in boxes because I know where I am all the time, I just follow my ear. I never saw the benifit of just learning scale patterns

  • thank for lesson for the 5 Pentatonic Scale Shapes....excellent:)

  • I have been searching for exactly this type of lesson for some time. Thanks so much for this video, and tabs. I NOW UNDERSTAND.

  • why dont you use your pinky on the second scale?

  • there are many of these '5 pentatonic scales' type videos available, and this is the best one. thank you for posting.

  • nice lesson .....very detailed ...thanks
